Feedback The Stupid Search Suggestion Drop Down

So this is the search box as it stands. Great functionality and has enhanced by BF experience for years.

Until recently.

What the s**t is this? When you type something it automatically gives suggestions that cover the entire search field.

What if I want to actually use the options available? What if I don't want unrelated suggestions from half a decade ago? Who's stupid idea was this?

There's an easy work around but that's beside the point. This is bad design. Please fix.

Press escape - there should be a line there to tell you that.
