If you received your GC SUNS Membership Satisfaction Survey email today I urge interstate members vic,sa,wa members to add at the end of the survey in the comments box a change of membership options for a more suitable interstate membership..

I referenced giants interstate member options as they have a membership option for each state as well as a better option for Victorians

So commentators saying if Carlton win today they can still be in touch with the 8. (they are the exact same position as us with a slight percentage above ours BUT the media won't recognise we are in a similar position!

Origin Wednesday (GO MAROONS)

As is the case every season, the media throw up potential State of Origin teams. These are the Suns players selected in Footy on Nine's teams:

VIC: Ben King
TAS: Hugh Greenwood and Lachie Weller
SA: Jack Lukosius
QLD/NT: Jarrod Harbrow, Alex Sexton, Zac Smith, Jack Bowes
NSW/ACT: Jarrod Witts

When does the club begin to acknowledge past players and administrators for awards such as Club Champion, potential statues, grand stands, rooms at Austworld centre etc?

Some names that could be considered:
Dr Alan Mackenzie
David Swallow
Gary Ablett
John Witheriff
Ron Clarke
Jarrod Harbrow (maybe the Jarrod Harbrow Community Award once he retires?)

Any more ideas?

win a premiership first

No.And I'm not even providing an argument. That's a purely visceral reaction that overrides everything
Don’t get me wrong, he did plenty wrong, and his last few years made me furious, BUT when he played for us he was a 4x B&F winner, 4x All Australian, Brownlow medalist as well as a 2x club leading goal kicker.

had his shoulder not been injured that day against Collingwood we’d have made finals, he’d likely have been a 2x brownlow medalist and our entire history would be re-written.

Im not saying it should be the club B&F or anything, but there should be some level of honour to the contribution he brought to the SUNS.

A lot of discussion on the coach and club in other threads I think it’s time the board start getting some attention.

Does anyone know any of these people?
I knew about Sam Riley's history but nothing else really.

What do these people actually get from being on the board? Is it a paid position?

Thanks for that.
I actually found that section on the website after I posted.

What do they get out of this?
Just connection with other business people?
I can imagine there is a certain power with being a Collingwood board member.. the suns on the other hand..

Well maybe they include some info on their profile about their connection to the Gold Coast or the suns.

their profiles just ramble on about which international company they were an accountant or a lawyer at. Or where they went to University 25 years ago.

...but do they know anything about running a football club?

O

or it’s suns supporters who want to make our club better?

They’re failing so far if that’s the case

...but do they know anything about running a football club?

That’s the first thing I noticed there’s no real football people!

I see giants have got Jimmy Bartel on their board if we could add a smart football/business person like Brad Johnson

Does anyone know any of these people?

What do these people actually get from being on the board? Is it a paid position?
No, board members is a voluntary thing. Most do it either for the love of the club, to make the club better, to enhance their reputation + plus goes on their resume. Or all of the above. But you're meant to be a member, because being a board member you're meant to be wanting the club to succeed and to make it better.
