Does someone have any ideas why Bartel got 22 more points than Gilbee, because quite frankly I'm puzzled:
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/gameday/0,,5015453,00.html

Gilbee (54 SC) - 22 disposals at 77% efficiency, 3 clearances, 2 clangers, 5 CP
Bartel (76 SC) - 16 disposals at 56% efficiency, 0 clearances, 0 clangers, 4 CP, 1 assist, 1 goal

Bartel was more influential in the seconds half.

Gilbee scored like 90% in the first half.

Bartel's 4th qtr included a goal, a contested mark, a score assist. Some inside 50's. Pretty good qtr

Fair enough, cheers! :thumbsu:

I wonder if they count kick out error's/clangers against said player.

They probably do, but then it would beg the question if they penalise a player from a poor kick out resulting in a direct turn over then do they also reward the player for a properly completed kick out?

i'm surprised akermanis didn't get a bigger score considering he single handidly got them back in the game in the 3rd qtr and helped in the 4th

If you look at all the players scores from WBD - Cats they are all fairly even with not too many stinkers. As they only have 3300 points to allocate per game this has resulted in many players having below normal scores.

I'd like to know how Waite actually managed to get 7 points? 1 ineffective handball and he was done

Ok thanks for clearing that up Spartans.

As for Hutchy, human filth, never liked him never will. I reckon this bloke would dig dirt up on his own mother if it meant getting a story to press!

I'd never taken too much notice of how things are scored/recorded during the game...
...but having done so this week, I'm tending to agree with [who-ever it was...sorry :o ] in that 40 page 'argument'...that the superstars tend to get better treatment than others.

(Which isn't specifically a SC fault, but the person/people doing the stats in the first place.)

Shane Tuck got given a 'clanger' for a handball out of a 6 man pack that hit a Richmond player, bounced off and was swept away by the Bombers. :(

Another example was Friday night when Bartel soccered the ball 35m straight to a Geelong player on the wing it was 'ineffective', yet later on Ablett tunnel-balled a handball out of a pack that grubbed along the ground [to a team mate] and was given the whole range of clearance, effective handball, contested possession...

Just seemed a little odd to me...

Could some explain to me how Boak and C.Cornes got the 84 today?

Boak: 60% Eff 25 Disposals 18K 7H 1G 0B 0CM 5UM 9T 6CL 5C 2FF 0FA 8CP 16UP 6I50 2A
Cornes: 75% Eff 16 Disposals 11K 5H 1G 0B 2CM 4UM 3T 2CL 1C 1FF 1FA 6CP 9UP 4I50 0A

Obviously Boak's 5 clangers are going to cost him, but 9 tackles, no FA, where as Cornes has 1FA 6 less tackles. I'm not exactly sure on the scoring of tackles but from memory, Sewell had 11 on Friday, huge score, Paddy Ryder had 13 Anzac day, huge score.

I think that Boak only had two possessions in the last quarter, when the game was in the balance, and they were both clangers. And since this quarter would've been weighted heavily, they would've probably cost him 10 points each at least.

When Tredrea kicked the goal to win the game, that also would've taken points off Boak and everyone else.

I think that Boak lost about 20-odd points in the last quater, so that's probably why.

Can someone please explain how efficiency is calculated. Bachar Houli last night had 14 touches, 4 of those were clangers and he still scored 100% efficiency.

His clangers might have been dropped marks or frees against, which dont go towards their effieciency %.

Kick ins, opposite to popular thought, have a value. I think it was 1 for a short kickin and 2-3 for a long kickin (usually with the added R50).

I wonder if they count kick out error's/clangers against said player.

Yes, they count clanger kickins and such

i like the idea of the set amount of points for each game but if people are deciding how many points a player gets then it seems like a bit of a lottery to me.
