It's pot, kettle, black I know, but shit, are Melbourne & the culture that's been embedded there the past 5-10 years really make them that much of an upgrade??

I just hope the players look at the now & how Woosha & co have begun healing our club with good energy, let alone transforming the team into a potential contender for 2017-2020.
I think their list is in good shape at the moment. If Hibbard wants a fresh start, and who can blame him, then Melbourne is not such a bad option. And Melksham's there for the cuddles when times are tough.

Did you see that game when Hogan played with his top ripped? That moment had me questioning my own sexual preference, and I can why Hibbo would want to play alongside the great man.

Anyways, I do hope he stays.

As you said no one including supporters who are loyal to the blokes who they think are good but are prepared to call others from the club they support spuds or shit trucks and carry on like the world is ending when a good player leaves but could not give a toss if others are delisted and have their career ended or it is another club the good player has left.
Managers do what they do, problem is supporters are emotionally attached to some players and get way too defensive or personal when one of them even hints at leaving. To say Conners is just in it for the money and he is telling blokes to leave a club just so he can make another $20k is total rubbish. Players move on from the blokes who are just in it for the money pretty quickly.
So far what has Conner done to Essendon ?
Ryder had a choice, Essendon or stay with the wife and kids but move interstate because he could not keep it in his pants , Crameri had an easy choice, more money over more years that he could not turn down and i know there where a few issues internally with a few players as well. Then we have Melksham who no one had any issues with showing him the door and moving him on.
So why is it Conners is a money hungry grub ?
My issue with Conners is CONTRACTED players leaving clubs - Once you finish a contract you are free to do what you want - Ryder was contracted as is Hurley and Hibberd.

Well so far the only contracted player to leave was Ryder and given the circumstances it is now clear why the club only put up a bit of a fight.

Exactly the **** is taking advantage of our situation.
That we created all on our own by letting dank into the club. He is not taking advantage of anything. The clause to get them out of the contract is there in the rules via the tribunal. Not that i think it will get that far as one could argue given both signed new contracts well after the events of 2012 and all parties involved have left the club and new protocol is in place it could be hard to prove a grievance . One could argue if they where that unhappy with 2012 the could have left and not signed new contracts.

Ramanauskas ( Player Agent ) stated on ABC radio last month that the Grievance Tribunal option is done and dusted - Players had to use this option when CAS handed down their decision in January or even earlier.

I'd take pick 27 for him. Although what will that become after all the bs academy picks? 40?
Well, other than the fact that the academy system doesn't really change from last time in terms of players available, Gold Coast have 5 picks before it, GWS have 3, Sydney have 1 and Brisbane have 3. It may actually move up the order a little.

But hasn't the club, for some time, openly said that they'll help orchestrate a trade for any of the suspended players if they wish to leave? We (EFC) have opened the door for this potential outcome and many would say 'so we should'.

We won't get Melbourne's second rounder ( 2016 ) for Hibberd, seeing melbourne already future traded their first rounder for 2016 - Will have to accept their 2017 second rounder.
IF he goes, I'd prefer this. It's going to be difficult enough as is finding game time for some of our younger players next season given the senior blokes coming back. They'll have more opportunity the year or two after when Stanton, Watson, Goddard and Hocking are a chance to retire.

That said I hope he stays. Nothing against him looking for a better contract but I'm worried about who we might lose if we pay all of these blokes a little bit over to keep them.

No, what he said is players were no longer able to nullify contracts by using the WorkSafe ruling. They will still be able to go to the grievance tribunal if they can't come to an agreement, but they won't be in as strong a position as they have already had one chance to activate a get out clause and didn't take it.
