it's basically a garrentee that every single team had at least one, if not more players sledge us over the drugs scandal.

If it was me, I would have done it too. It's such an easy sledge and you would be pretty confident it would effect the player you were sledging.

I would think that the most effective sledges are the ones that are unexpected or which play on anxieties. In this situation it would be hard to find an angle that our players hadn't heard before, and our players would've had training/coaching about it as well... Which isn't to say it wouldn't get to them, but maybe the most obvious sore point is also the best protected one? The bit about unborn children was probably a huge thing when it first came out in the media, because you can't arm yourself with the truth (because no one knows)... things like that would hurt. But just being called a drug cheat by uninformed idiots wouldn't hurt much when you've heard it a zillion times before.

I reckon they would have been a lil more clever than just "ur a drug cheat"

Also If it were me I couldnt care how much money Hawthorn are throwing I wouldn't want to play for a club who had a bloke doing a needle jab symbol **** them the disrespectful campaigners.
Should of been made to pay for that one .... Straight away.
Mr Mitchell, meet Mr Elbow.
(But then, I am a child of the 80s)

Well obviously, although the most famous one (the infamous jabbing motion) could hardly be interpreted as clever.

You'd have to be pretty creative to come up with something that the players haven't actually heard before, which is hard when you know 2% of **** all about what actually happened.
