The Swansong - Departed Musicians

My friend has been asked to learn the keyboard part for the Animals classic "House of The Rising Sun". I pulled it up on Youtube to have a listen and saw in the comments that Hilton Valentine, the guitarist who, I think wrote the iconic riff has passed away.

One of the first covers I ever learned to play. Such a cool riff.

Not a muso, so I might be breaking the thread rules, but I thought this should be shared.

My cars from the early eighties were strewn with cassettes and made up a substantial portion of my music listening life.

A few that stand out as ones I absolutely thrashed were Rainbow Rising by Rainbow, The Big Heat by Stan Ridgway, a copy of Killer Queen by Queen, and New Order's Power, Corruption and Lies.

Good memories.

And we bid farewell to another Aussie rocker in Tony Pola...Beasts of Bourbon and The Surrealists drummer. Perhaps not a surprise that some of the BoB guys don't make old bones...they wen't hard.

Why people glorify alcohol consumption, I'll never understand.

No problem people enjoying a few drinks, get a bit tipsy.

Anymore is a pointless exercise in self destruction.

We've all got demons, and I know it helps some people forget theirs for a while.

But a lot of alcohol abuse goes way beyond that.

So, so sad.

Too ******* young. RIP Joey. :sleepy:
