I havent been to Sydney- not properly anyway- for over 7 years. (spent a day there a couple years ago).

This photo reminds me I should come up again one day..

Yeah nah I went Qld last year. Had a great time, but I need to go somewhere different.

Am over the theme parks too, went Movieworld and was just thinking the whole time "what the **** am i doing here". It's boring- our theme parks suck.

I never go to the 'tourist' gold coast either. more to this place than the whole theme parks to broadbeach strip... in fact, that's the worst parts! but don't tell anyone. it makes money for the locals....

edit: but getting back to this thread - defn go to Sydney if you haven't been for a while. im sure some locals posting on here will help you with some tips. I try go sydney once or twice a year. I love to visit.

Nah I don't mind Surfers. Everything is walking distance/public transport etc and lots to do. I just need a break from it, definitely.

Love Sydney tho. Bridge climb at 9pm in Summer was ah-mazing.

Magnificent weather over the long weekend!

The traffic is abysmal, the layout of the city is baffling, there's too many houses going up in the basin (I don't mind, I look down on the plebs from my spot in the mountains) but when you get on a ferry from Rhodes, or Circular Quay, or Manly and ride the harbour.....Sydney is magnificent.

Hmmm, maybe somewhere in the northern suburbs of the Illawarra area like Austinmer, or somewhere like Kiama or Gerringong if you want to go a bit further.

Up north isn't too bad. The Entrance way kind of. The family has a beach house at Blue Bay that overlooks the ocean. It's superb.
