I believe era is apt as it refers to to the period of time Melbourne were under the Neeld regime. Calling something the Neeld disaster is more specific like the hiring of Neeld.

A lot of top 4 sides provided the players for his position, and you're gonna struggle to displace them in a bottom 6 side. Rightfully so.
