To be fair to my old man he would have been about the same age I am now, and I'm pretty sure I would be shocking at trying to do something like that as well. I'd probably just log the kid onto xHamster or another purveyor of smut, give him a box of tissues and shut the door behind me.

Never had the talk.

Well Reaper, my son, I've always considered you a son on BF.

When a man and a women like each other the man gets tight in the crotch area and the women gets moist. When those two parts combine I am Captain Planet.

Never got it. However I was given a book when I was 13 and had just got picked up from a mates party. My mum just said "You're probably at around that age now so here's a book". Had no idea what she was talking about until she actually handed me the book. Didn't say much but it was an awkward ride home
Put it straight in the bookshelf pretending I would never read it but I occasionally had a gander. Til this day I still avoid the topic of sex with my family. Super Awks

I think I was around 15 when I got a highly awkward attempt at the talk from my mother. I'd already lost my virginity at that stage, but decided to play it ignorant. Unsure why she felt the need as my school did sex ed in yr 5, and she was aware of this.

Had the talk at about 13. Medical diagrams, the whole shebang.

One of the most awful thirty minutes of my life.

At least you were given the she bang. Quality parents.

Unlike most of you here I actually had it. Can't remember exactly how old but probably 12/13.

I was at the cricket with my dad and a family friend 2-3 years older than me. As such there was this strange balloon like thing floating around and I ask the family friend 'whats that?' and he says its a condom. I ask what that is and he says don't worry, so on getting home I asked my parents and they broke it to me.

also never got the talk. but the olds did get me the picture book "where do i come from" or whatever its called. i found it a very interesting read

Same story here, the olds borrowed that book from the library and gave it to me to read one night when the power went out and there was nothing else to do.

Never had "the talk" per se, my sex ed reads more like a series of awkward situations.

Had sex ed in year 6 (I don't think much sunk in though)
Had the internet installed on the home computer. My mum asked me to supervise my sister "Can you make sure she doesn't look up any *** sites"...Not knowing what that word meant at the time, I googled it first chance I had on the computer by myself. I guess she assumed that was covered in sex ed (it wasn't).
Then during year 7 the kids at school would look up *** on the school computers during computing classes. "What's that on your hands"......"Water" (I kid you not was the excuse one guy used when caught by a teacher)
At some point during high school my sisters best friend discovered my *** files on the computer. Having divorced parents, my mum told my dad something to the effect "Can you have a talk with your son about this". The first question my dad asked was "What kind of *** do you like?". The rest of conversation was mostly him talking about his preferences with the obligatory "Are you gay?" question thrown in.

Given how far past the usual age I am for loosing your virginity I'm sure there's much more awkwardness in my adult education future.

Never had the talk. My Catholic primary school was quite progressive on this stuff, we got all the info on how sex worked in Year 5.

I honestly don't think I've ever heard either of my parents say the word 'sex'.

That's funny, I went to a Catholic school and they had the same thing. Not Bible-thumping "sex is evil" stuff, but pretty straight up discussion.

I think Grade 3 was the "where do babies come from" talk, and Grade 6 was the "what's going to happen to me" talk.

Before the first talk, Dad sat me down and explained it, I think so it wouldn't come as quite such a shock to me. From memory, I burst out in tears screaming "But I don't want to put my doodle in a girl's thing! That's yucky!!"

Yeah, fair to say my opinion on that has changed somewhat.....;)

I got a day off school when I got my first period.

That was pretty awesome. :thumbsu:
(the period needless to say was not, I think I cried most of the day :()

Watching our male PE teachers squirm when girls would say they had their periods was hilarious, we had one who refused to give them the class off, always seemed creepy to me.

Never had the talk, parents just said if you need to, ask any questions you want... and i never did. Kids access to pr0n these days will eliminate the need for the talk, will also create a new breed of sexual wunderkids with no inhibitions or taboos.
