Yes. It's the rarity of the item and the condition.
Because Dinky Meccano and Matchbox Lesney, the British companies which manufactured toy cars, no longer exist, the value increases over time.
They become collectors' items, even unboxed.
Of course, children would tend to throw away the packaging, like we all used to.

The Andrews government is nowhere near as bad as NSW.
The Sydney light rail project is delayed for years, destroying small businesses, hundreds of heritage trees, blowing out from $800 million to an estimated $3 billion in taxpayer costs.
The people who live near the shunting yards, which will operate nearly 24/7, face the construction which is cracking and destroying their houses.
It is the worst public works project I have ever seen.
