In the supermarket yesterday, I saw a woman who looked like a hippie backpacker, with Sanskrit tattoos and the like.
She crammed a backpack with tubs of expensive imported ice cream and just walked out.
I mentioned to staff but they do not have security on site, there is nothing they can do, only take a picture from the security camera.
A wise man once told me do not trust human nature.
Hippies don't eat ice cream.

A Western hippie-type backpacker, with Thai tattoos, stole the gourmet ice cream
The woman who works at the deli told me two druggies came in and wanted ALL the salmon in the store, in boxes and loose.
She said that was fine, she would escort them to the check-out to pay, but they suddenly lost interest.

By the way, Monday will be a stinking hot day, 37 degrees.
I hope you don't have one of the ground passes for the Australian Open tennis.
They are not cheap either, almost $50.
Temperatures on the outside courts could reach 45 degrees, they are concrete furnaces in the heat.

My wife saw someone in Big W stuffing DVDs up their shirt. She informed a staff member and kept shopping.
15 minutes later she asked the staff member how it went. He was quite happy with himself. They had followed the thief out, told him they knew what he had done, and not to come back.
Didn't get the DVDs back or any payment, but apparently it was a successful outcome.

Would have got in trouble though, I worked for Big W and someone got a written warning for following a thief out.

I have the same issue. but if you click in the box where it has the page number you can type in which one you want to go to.

but on PC the page numbers appear on threads like they used to :)
Yeah, on the phone. Pain in the arse, they need to fix it, this isn't 2005 :drunk:

Yes. They are not allowed to lay a finger on the shoplifters.
It just means the law-abiding consumer pays higher prices to cover losses.
Some of these stores do not have security staff due to cost-cutting.

I remember when I was working at safeway 13-15 years ago we used to have a 'code 100' which was announced over the PA, it meant someone has stolen something and basically any male staff member close by dropped what they were doing and chased them down.
