We missed the top 4 by half a game this year so that should be our aim next year

That's exactly what I said to him. I asked him if we should have won the first Freo clash. He said yes, and I replied, well going by that, we SHOULD have been top 4. So what's wrong with us thinking about top 4 next year, considering we should improve again.

I also had a disagreement with my Geelong supporting Uncle who said our culture needs to change, in regards to Dusty. I said one player doesn't ruin a culture, to which he replied Yes they do. I turned around and said, if that's the case, you can't say Geelong have a clean culture when you have Paul Chapman pushing people over in the streets, jumping on strangers cars and doing damage to them, or Jesse Stringer who hit his girlfriend and got suspended indefinitely.

He shut his trap then.

They're all just scared of the Tigers being successful because their clubs are so irrelevant

I agree. I turned around and said to him, even with 30 years of failure, our last 50 years have been more successful than Geelong's. Didn't take to that too kindly. :thumbsu:

Went to a cousin's 18th Birthday last night, and a Western Bulldogs supporting cousin had this to say about the Tigers:

He told me that Liberatore is a better player than Cotchin, Wallis is better than Deledio, Dahlhaus is better than Dustin Martin, Talia better than Rance, Stringer better than Riewoldt, Macrae better than Conca.

He also said he doesn't rate Ellis, Grimes, Vlastuin.

He also told me that Dustin is a cokehead, which I kindly responded that "That is innuendo, and no proof, and whilst Dusty may have off-field issues, he has yet to be found unconscious in a public street.

He is a flog of the highest order, and said that Doggies will make finals next year, and scoffed when I said we should be aiming for top 4, although I don't expect we will, and he responded that we wouldn't even make finals next year.

He is an absolute nuffy, and one of the reasons why I hate Bulldogs supporters. Most of them have hte mentality that their youngsters are guns, and no other team has decent players.
Should've glassed him

As they say, you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family. I'm the only one with true taste.

I am the only Richmond supporter in a group of about 16 family members.

9 are Geelong
2 are Essendon
1 is Melbourne
1 is Western Bulldogs
1 is Collingwood
1 is Carlton

and then there is me.

What are your thoughts on this, guys?

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/op...in-harm8217s-way/story-fni0fhh1-1226724701456

I agree with the premise that most AFL players wouldn't be well equipped to deal with life on the outside of football, something the AFL has rectified by urging players to look for part time employment, or education to give themselves a life after football.

However, it comes across as a very biased, AFL bashing article, and has some glaring inaccuracy, such as saying King has played for a decade.

However, what the article fails to mention is that AFL players have become easy targets for the general public. Where was the mention of Eric McKenzie in Geelong? Where was the mention of Alex Rance and his stalker? The fact is, whilst SOME players have disciplinary issues off the field, it doesn't mean every player should be seen as being protected and enabled.

The man child's Sloane and Murphy seem to do alright with their 'older sister' type partners
See his ex was one of the survivors of the Kenya massacre. Got out of a staff backdoor with a few others.

Melbourne woman Sarah Williamson was in the mall with her father, who works for the UN, when she heard the first explosions.

"She heard the first grenade go off and said, ‘What was that, dad?’," her mother Linda told the station. "Then he heard the guns firing and he knew exactly what it was and he said, ‘We’re under attack, everybody to the back of the room'."

The 23-year-old from Eltham, who is reportedly the ex-partner of Carlton captain Marc Murphy, spent six hours trapped in the store before she could run to safety.

First of all I Hope you don't mind me encroaching on your domain and yes I read the title and wasn't sure where to put this.

We have just come home from my sons junior presentation and we were lucky enough to have Matt Arnot there to give out the main trophies. I want to congratulate your Club for having such a fine young man as part of the Tigers. He spoke well and was more than happy to answer questions and have photos taken and yes my Tigers son got one done too.

As I have said before you have a great Club.
Looks like one of your sons have seen the light. .. ;)

Thanks
