Laycock omitted. Wonder what Ben The Gooner thinks about this? Now that it is reality.

What?

I've supported Laycock, but that's because he's on the bench for my Dream Team. I've never been his staunchest supporter.

Yeah I know. Don't take it the wrong way...

I was one who wanted Laycock dropped this week, you were dead set against Laycock being dropped and Bellchambers coming in.

Just wondering if your thoughts have changed.

I never actually supported Laycock ahead of Bellchambers for this week because I haven't seen any Bendigo games this year, and can't really comment on Bellchambers' ability.

I said that there should only be enforced changes (i.e. injury) and the players show Knighter that they are capable of playing a lot better. Which we all know they are.

I did wonder whether Laycock would respond to getting dropped, but that was a genuine question, which I have no leaning one way or the other about.

I don't think Laycock should've been dropped.

Yes, I know he is in bad form but Bellchambers isn't ready to take on the Port ruckmen. Infact I don't think he would be ready to take on any ruckmen. Ruckmen need tim to develop. I hope this kid will be good but please keep Laycock in the team for 3 more weeks. Give the kid some time.

Bellchambers took on and destroyed Lachlan McKinnon a few weeks ago. That's good enough form for me. :D

I'm pretty happy with that team I've got to say.

Bellchambers gets a chance just like everyone else (I doubt he'll play emergency, though there's a chance he could and Ryder could ruck, I guess) and Laycock gets a kick up the bum.
Atkinson is a big body who runs hard. Not sure about his skills but at least he'll have a go.
Hislop and Jetta are impressive talents who hopefully can do well with the lack of practice they've had.
Myers won't get dropped again this year unless injured. Going to get nominated for the rising star this year.
Johnson deserves a go given the effort he showed for Bendigo, even if he was lacking the skills at times.
Hopefully Pears and Johns get another go, Pears because he's show some stuff, Johns because I think everyone deserves a chance to settle and show something, even if I think they wont make it.
Daniher :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Neagle showed some real effort for Bendigo. No result, but his chasing and efforts were promising. I think he'll do ok if he gets a run. Unlikely he will though with Daniher and Lloyd in the team. Most likely to be an emergency.

Likely Emergencies are hard to pick. Neagle, Nash, & Monfries. Though likely Johns, Pears or Johnson could take those places.

I'm slow, 191cm at best, unfit and haven't learnt how to time my jumps yet. I struggle in the 4ths and I'd beat Lachlan McKinnon. Can I play Knighter?:D

Bellchambers looks like a 35 year older....

Last weeks game at bendigo it looked like Bellchambers wasn't even trying at all, as if it seemed to easy for him.

bellchambers isnt in this week is he? i know he is listed as the ins but that is with an extended bench and the article on the EFC website was talking about ryder being used as a backup ruckmen in the absense of laycock

Throw your hard earned hundred on a Bombers win. Trust me. Or just back them to beat the line. :thumbsu:

Lade might finally earn some good points for my Supercoach this week. Though, Hille might kick his ass.

Correct. When I said "Bellchambers was in" I should've added "the squad".

At least Laycock got dropped.

If getting dropped for a raw as they come 18 year old ruckman doesn't put the fire in your belly then nothing will.

IMO Laycock's response should determine whether he will stay at Essendon or not.

Yeah, Just a squad at this stage. Team will be selected from the players named. All teams make their final selection closer to Sunday. Ports team list is the same.

Out of curiosity, what's the most first year players to be named +/- play a senior game in a week?

Seems like we've got most of the boys that everyone was saying to keep an eye out for over the past 12 months on board for Sunday.

In: Atkinson, Bellchambers, Daniher, Hislop, Jetta, Johnson, Myers, Neagle
Out: Fletcher (groin), Laycock (omitted), Ramanauskas (virus), Reimers (foot), Winderlich (groin)

B: Houli, Michael, Myers
HB: Lovertt Murray, Ryder, Dyson
C: Atkinson, Watson, Slattery
HF: Welsh, McPhee, Daniher
F: Hislop, Lloyd, Lovett
R: Hille, Jetta, Stanton
I: Bellchambers, Johns, Johnson, Monfries, Nash, Neagle, Pears

Unbelievable, I am pinching my self at the moment. Just over the moon with some of these inclusions. (WOOO HOOO :D).

Just hoping the final bench is: Bellchambers, Monfries, Neagle and Nash.

Please knighter, just drop C.Johns.

There might be still more good news. Heard Slattery on SEN, apparently he has got a cold. Just hope he doesn't come up, so Pears gets into the team. :thumbsu:

That'll will be perfect.

He has a bad case of Food poisoning. They were interviewing his mother today on SEN, about 3.45.

So I guess you like to see your team get belted and not develop properly.

I guess you like to see guys given guys before selection is deserved. What type of culture does that instill into a club?
