welsh has been named for the bendigo team so he is still coming back from injury.
it looks like monfries, pev and cj will miss out because they were named for bendigo aswell but you never know i suppose.

Re: THE TEAM vs. Pussies

oh ok i thought it was only the preseason.
i thought he mustve done something else or was injured.
thanks :)

I'm not speaking from vast knowledge of the situation but I was fairly sure it was just the pre-season too. Given he's not named for Bendigo, and was reportedly in the modified group at training today I think he may well have picked up a niggle last weekend.

Re: THE TEAM vs. Pussies

Mcveigh v Ablett will be a great match up. I hope Mcveigh doesn't tag but just plays aggressive football and makes Ablett accountable.

LOL.....I love to see McVeigh go head to head with Ablett and rather than tag him make it an offensive shootout and see who comes out on top.

You obviously didn't see Mcveighs game on Monday. One of the most underrated players going around and Gary didn't look back to his best against Port last week, and without Ottens he is not going to be getting first use of the pill

I saw McVeigh's game but evidently you didn't watch lil Gaz. He was very damaging despite being tagged. Ablett was perhaps a little rusty but if he was a bit more accurate he could have had 3 goals to go with his 24 possessions.

Dont get me wrong I think head to head Gazza would take the points but I would prefer to see Mcveigh let loose than be wasted tagging as we saw last week what he could really do.

Re: THE TEAM vs. Pussies

Lonergan is the last person i'd be dropping. All ahead of CJ, Slattery, Monfries, Pev and JJ IMO.

Slatts won't miss either though because he is our best tagging option so we'll need him against the Cats, any other team and he wouldn't be in our 22,

What a rediculous statement.

No he's right.

Lonergan was great. Really hard at it and backed himself. Picked up quality possessions to boot.

No reason he should be dropped.

Re: THE TEAM vs. Pussies

He performed ok on Monday. Was pretty happy with him. In saying that, to suggest he's the last person you'd drop is one of the most obserd statements made on this site.

Im pretty sure it was just a figure of speach.

Don't take things so literally guys. :thumbsu:

Re: THE TEAM vs. Pussies

Dyson names on the field. Take that haters.

Bench.. I'm going to go out on a limb:

Laycock, CJ, Slattery, Monfries.

Hard to see Lonergan getting dropped, so maybe Monfries will miss. Depends how he pulls up I spose.

Slattery will do a tagging job, Knights seemed happy with his job against North. Pev might even sneak in. Pretty sure JJ will be an emergency though.

Johnson will definitely play.. was ok last week and will need him against hardened mature Geelong midfield

where did you see that monfries, pev and cj were playing for bendigo?

Not necessarily. Unfortunately for Gus his forward pocket role has been well and truly been overtaken by Davey and Jetta. With that gone, he is pushing for a midfield role where he is at the moment not the first choice with Watson, Lonergan in good form and JJ as the experienced head.

I for one am glad for our club that Gus is being put to the test to force his way into the side, it can only be good with this much competition for spots.

Sucks for some peoples DT though :p

Well i hope this is true, Winders is an absolute champion.
He'll add some pace, gut running and clean disposal across the ground.
