There is a Bendigo practice match today at Frankston ;) but if you had read one of my earlier posts you would have seen that.

As far a Jetta not playing , when have we ever told a kid that he is in the side and not played him ? Yes we have done it with a few senior guys on numerous occasions but Sheeds has never done it with kids on debut.

And for the 1000th time the players named on the bench have to start on the bench!

The 18 that start on the ground can chop and change in any way until the team sheet is submitted to the umpires 45 minutes before the first bounce. That sheet details the 4 on the bench and no change can be made to that until the first bounce. Team in the paper means nothing, surely as an Essendon supporter you would know that by now. The bench will not start as Bradley, Watson, Monfries, Lovett - Murray

I know the 18 named on the ground can line up in any order they like.I have never said that they would line up in the exact order that they appear.As for the bench well Watson started on the bench a number of times last year. If Monfires is going to be in the midfield roatation then yes he would probably start on the bench.
Bradley will be used as the number two ruckman so yes he would start on the bench.

Of course they might start on the bench, just clearing up that they don't "have to start on the bench"
 
is monfries playing? not named in team sheet on afl website (game day live)...although that website has been in the wars lately!

ant, the guys who are named on the bench do not have to start on the bench. for example. yze was named on the ground on thursday, however he started on the bench last night.

how we will line up:

Welsh - Michael - Slats
Mcphee - Fletch - MJ
Lovett - Jobe - Winders
Hirdy - Lucas - Monfries
Davey - LLoyd - Jetta

Hille - Stanton - McVeigh

Ryder - Kepler - Peverill - Lov-Murray

Sheedy is just being Sheeds.

Could the naming of Jetta and Davey be just another Sheedy ploy (an old KS trick used since 1982) to let the footy world (including Leroy and Davey themselves) know that he thinks these two players are already good enough to play in the seniors?...but won't be risk them f-ing up in a rd 1 Crow fest at AAMI?

Sheedy knows that the joint will be packed to the rafters with pycho-footy starved Crow fans screaming out after 6 months away from their beloved team.

I don't think he will chuck Jetta and Davey into that.

Then again,maybe he will.:confused:


Thats the wonderful thing (is it?) about Sheedy. You just never know what the hell he is gunna do next!


Pev being named in the centre baffles me beyond belief.

I thought he wouldn't make the cut...he's done bugger-all over summer really.

Except the AFL says if you play on Sunday you have to name 25 players.

We have to name a side by 5pm Thursday, we played at 1pm Sunday. A lot can happen inbetween.

No they don't. They 18 have to actually form part of the 22 or not play at all, but the four that are now named on the bench can start on the ground.

If they were in the paper during the week about playing their first game, they would be playing. I don't think there was an article in The Sun, at least not on Jetta.

Mate Sheeds could have told Leroy he was named but wont play til next week.
 
Gameday live on the afl site is showing Dyson in for Monfries, and Bode in for Douglas.

Dunno if it's just typos or not...
