I was a voracious reader as a kid because my father beat me and I had no friends.

Only problem is I was actively discouraged. English teacher told me to stop reading Kerouac. Science teacher laughed when I told him I read Chariots of the gods.

All I had left was dads stash of Hustler magazines out the back of the garage. That publication turned me into a fervent supporter of free speech.
So you read them for the articles too?

Did you read the Grapes of Wrath or Angela's Ashes or any Dickens novel?

Suspect a lot of people who advocate for ‘socialism’ casually don’t really mean socialism. Most advocates for capitalism agree with a social safety net where it’s feasible etc. The argument then is more about the level of taxation and government spending and regulation.

Where people actually advocate socialism, and there’s no shortage of people genuinely calling for ‘ending the profit motive’ and municipilisation en masse, most reasonable people run for the hills and it’s in the interests of those just advocating for better healthcare etc to draw a line and differentiate themselves from the extreme.

The Globalist Bankster Regime is pushing for Communism with its Marxist agenda!
Do you think 'Marriage Equality' was really about equality?!? It was a move from the Karl Marx handbook to undermine religion!
It could have been done with a Civil Union and avoided this religious bigotry, or just stripped marriage of its legalities for everyone and had everyone do it by Civil Union and Christians wouldn't have minded so much if they could still do the token ceremonies! It was about turning religion into a mockery for the satisfaction of the satanist commies!
Marx was sympathetic to the claims of religion - they had marriage in the Soviet Union

Hahah - you don’t have to be a commie to have read Marx. I’m just trying to understand the “playbook” you are talking about

The “opium of the people” comes from Crtitique of Hegels philosophy of right” which was published in 1843 - pretty clear he meant opium as a palliative rather than a hallucinogen

“Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering - it is the sigh of the oppressed creature, and the soul of soulless conditions”

WTF any of that has got to do with the “Marxist playbook”or gay marriage has got me ******

Admittedly, I have never fully examined the Marxist theology but I have taken note of enough to know that a part of the Marxist agenda for communism is to compromise religion. Does the pedophile network running through the churches make more sense now?!? All part of the agenda!

Are you claiming Marxists infiltrated churches to commit pedophilia ad bring down the church or that Marxists have publicised existing pedophilia to bring it down?

You can’t blame kiddie fiddlers in the Church on Marx - all the worst offenders and those that protected them all hate Marx and Marxists with a passion - all appointed by the arch Conservative JPII and his hopeless offsides Benedict

It was always going to take something big to make humanity lose faith in religion and money is the route of all evil. It all makes complete sense to me! Your generalizing is showing btw!

Just want to get a few opinions on here because I think this shit is becoming a bit ridiculous now. I'm honestly disgusted over how many of my own generation (I'm 29 years old,) are pushing for socialism. Is it the universities pushing this? Is it due to social media's U.S left bias? Are we just going to keep repeating the idiot cycle that's been done to - literal - death. Why is this new rhetoric of "real socialism hasn't been tried yet," becoming so abundant? It's one of the more idiotic things I've ever heard - how often do you hear "real nazi-ism just hasn't been tried yet"?

It's downright scary that this is becoming a thing again. All one has to do is look at Venezuela and Cuba right now for **** sake. I thought 5G was meant to scramble our brains? What's the point - seems to me that some of our young brains are already scrambled.

Thoughts?
The Left (many of whom are academics with significant amounts of time on their hands) are masters of re-writing history (very selectively ignoring the fact that their model has never worked anywhere, at any time).

Conservatives suck at selling their message (perhaps they're too busy getting on with 'the job').

Millennials are obsessed with instant gratification and socialism provides them with a quicker and easier 'rise' than sacrifice/hard work.

Some combination of the above would be my theory.

Well done to you to recognise the folly of socialism at such a young age.

I think you're using hackneyed stereotypes. Very little of your post can be supported with evidence.

What a bad post.

Are you so sheltered that your life revolves around the stereotypes you hear on Sky?

Which part of a discussion of federal overreach by funding something not specifically mentioned in the constitution, which is passed to the states in that regard, did you think was particularly relevant?
You can hate the federal government's bastard action of... helping young Australians do more with their lives than mix concrete. But it's not overreach or unconstitutional. The states can't afford to do it alone.

That you don't see federal funding announcements at election times for what they are, and it's not about helping young people learn or old people get healthy, is your issue.
