Why, he is a gun kicking 180 goals from 100 games. Has had one bad year. Definitely worth a 12 pick upgrade.
He's definitely worth more than that in playing terms.

Unfortunately his actual value is only whatever gets offered to us, which won't likely be too significant. Would be stoked to find out otherwise though!

I'm mostly going off what a recruiter from Port was saying on Adelaide radio the other day. Apparently there is a clear top 5 then the next 20 or so are very even. Drops off quite significantly after that.
I feel like it's a bit of a throwaway line we hear every year, gross exaggeration of actuality.

I'm internally debating whether a club would rate Lucas more highly v Hampson

I will admit that I've never been a Hampson fan amd thought the Tiges gave us too much for him so my judgement may be clouded
There are a number of players out there that are around 200cm who skills set would not get them a look in if they were 15cm shorter, they show signs that they can play but never on a consistent basis. Cannot consistently take marks, read the play or kick straight when needed

Consider this... take a stab with one pick (7) at getting a good player... or you get Jacksch, 19, 21 where you have better odds of at least one (or more) of those being a good player..

We've been throwing that around for days already :)
Seems the most logical outcome right now.

GWS would be happy to go into the draft with #4 & #7 in hand, having already secured Steele with their second.
Hawthorn gets O'Rourke and we get Jaksch and 2 * ~#20 odd picks.......Easy.

The way I see it, It's going to take a little more than 19 to get O'Rourke from GWS (former pick 2 who is homesick and a little injury prone), and Pick 7 is worth more than Jaksch, 19 and 21.

What player could Hawthorn send our way in a three way trade? (Hallahan is probably the most obvious suggestion)

Hawthorn: O'Rourke + 28 for Hallahan + 19
GWS: Pick 7 for Jaksch + O'Rourke
Carlton: Jaksch, Hallahan, 19 + 21 for Pick 7 + 28

Thats too much in our favour IMO, but not really sure how to balance it out.
Other options could include adding Robinson into the trade - could be Woodward instead of Hallahan.

Can I ask where the talk of picks 19 & 21 and Jaksch for our pick 7 have come from? I've read the possibility of pick 21 and Jaksch but not including pick 19. Is that just us making the suggestion or is it a real possibility?

As hesitant as I would be to part with pick 7 I would do that deal if both picks 19 & 21 were included along with Jaksch.

The Age said KJ 19 & 21 for 7 & 28 today. Take out 28 and I'd do it.

Is there something other than 28 we can add?

Imagine the Dogs would have got wind of that and hence the Cooney "bonus" for #28.

I don't want us losing that pick. Even though the deal seems balanced, the #28 may be hard to let go.

Tbh, even with 28 I'd do it. Essentially 3 kids in the top 21 (one with 2 years under his belt; 3 chances at a gun), for 7 (gun) and 28 (speculative). Although it ain't ideal, I see it as fair.
