He's better than Selwood, by some margin.
He is a small mid that is easily taken out of the game by any half decent tagger. Rather get the guy who fits our needs instead of adding more little blokes who get pushed around too easily.

Shuey is a great player but doesn't suit our current team

Tell us another one about Buckley questioning their culture before cutting Didak.

Idiotic to think Mick can turn around every player.
firstly, he is a premiership player is he not? secondly, what bad thing has he done? He made one mistake one night.....I just think Buckley holds grudges and is a control freak to be honest....Malthouse took them to a premiership and they behaved fine....Buckley takes them to a loss to port adelaide week one......I think I will back Mick in

He's played 84 games now, he played 21 games this year, kicked 26 goals, and hit 20 possessions twice, for the whole year. For his 21 games, he'll be lucky to be Top 15 in the B&F, if that.

To me that is way, way under what is expected of him as a senior footballer. 2 years ago he racked it up 400 times, sure he was off the back flank, but at least he got his hands on the pill.

Personally, reckon he cruised this year and deserves criticism meted to him. If he gets shopped around, so be it.
Gets run down more often the not and we are still waiting for him to have the fitness to be able to play four quarters. Plenty of potential and keeping him is by no means a bad option but he really needs to stand up next year.

I have to agree I'm afraid,

He also stands around joking with a bloke who was killing us after we went scoreless in a quarter of finals football, Its unacceptable really, he should have walked up and belted him or pushed him........

No doubt about that, but for his amazing, sublime footskills he kicked 26.25 for the year, and he never got out of second gear, until late in the year, when his numbers picked up.

Agreed, Yazz struggled under "the process" with Mick this year, I don't think many around would deny that, well the ones with half a clue anyway, and yep deserves a clip no doubt with his output compared to what we hoped and expected of a player of Chris' skill and silk, I hope we keep him tbh and he turns it around next year, would love to see him played on a wing and left there for a sustained period, two way running must be grasped and accepted by him to survive, not only at Carlton should we retain him, but for his future in the AFL as well.

And those advocating trading Yarran for Selwood aren't looking at anything but the things he doesn't do.

Get us a genuine A grader and we'll talk.
Won't get an A grade mid for Yarran sorry to break it to you.

An underachieving small forward with a bit of an attitude problem.

Selwood is a damn good deal for us in my opinion.

Yarran having good foot skills is a media myth. Unreliable kick for goal, unreliable field kick. He just, uh, moves and looks good.
44.8% goal accuracy, one of our lowest, 18th at Carlton.
64% disposal efficiancy, one of our very lowest, 32nd worst at Carlton.
He doesn't kick it as well as Lucas, Curnow and Robinson who constantly get bagged for it!

FMD, the ideas that the media put into people's heads are amazing. This club is the king of media myths. We have very high opinions of fairly ordinary players on this board and most of it comes from the media. A lot of over rating and false opinions being spewed out on this board over a hell of a lot of our players.

Its weird how his good field kicking doesn't seem to help out his set shots. His poor set shots is why I want him on the wing but he seem miles off fitness wise from been able to play there.
Even his field kicking is inconsistent in my opinion. He has great skill but little mental stability. The only time I saw him really play from his undoubted ability was in 2 or 3 practice games a few years ago when he was first tried in the backline.

64% He'd be our best field kick

Yaz looks so smooth. Moves smooth. Tantalizing to watch. He certainly is not consistent and easily drops his bundle. I really do not know what we'd get for a trade, as we don't know what we're gonna get game day from him output-wise. I'd love to keep him, but he can be so frustrating to watch. I'm on the fence with this. Obviously if we can an offer too good to refuse, I'm in.
