Rogers wants out after hearing of us trying poach others to replace him.

I said last week this would happen. And we have no replacement. SOS won't leave GWS whilst contracted (until 2016).

Very disturbing to think that neither MM or Andy McKay knew of this attempt........the quicker things come to a head with a board spill (if it occurs) the better IMHO.

Here we see what things are going to be like under the new Mathieson regime with LoGiudice as his puppet. For the sake of the club i'm hoping we don't end up with SOS as well. We need people who think independently of these people, not more of their mates entering the club in important positions.

Board spill seems to be the only way to reduce the size of the bloody thing....

They have been talking about culling the board numbers to a more reasonable number for years now.......

He was only meant to be President for a short time, not blaming him at all
^^^ this

Sticks was only supposed to be in there as an interim president until the return of Dick Pratt... however with his death, the board ratified him as the full time president and that was just it.

And now, we have one of the Pratt faction members off the board (Trainor) and LoGuiduce, one of Mathiesons' coterie, about to step into the highest position... with a board weighted towards the Mathieson camp. Shit is going to get ugly if we allow Mathieson to assume overall control of the club.

I didn't think I could be more annoyed at Mathieson, and then he does this. He strikes me as one of those idiots in the crowd who jeers his own players, screams "kick it" at any opportunity, and groans when we go backwards to switch the play. I fail to see how he can condemn Rogers after 2 years at the club.

And then when things go wrong, he blames the coach, the board, the match committee anyone but those actually responsible.

I'm very bitterly disappointed in the fact that Rogers is getting blamed for the failures of others. The club did very well in last year's draft and if not for Cripps' injury we may be able to say the same again this year on top of an overall very reasonable trade week.

Nobody could possibly blame him if he were to leave.

It's too early to tell how Rogers has fared, one way or another.
Surely he deserves a few years grace period to see how the blokes he has selected progress?

If I found out that the management was headhunting my replacement while I was still working there... I would be talking to a lawyer to see if the company had breached the terms of my contract with them by approaching someone else. Especially if I was doing my job well.

On the Richmond /fyfe discussion it reminds me of homer in the Springfield history place.

2 questions 1 where's the fyfe, 2 gimme the fyfe.

With all the board shit we won't get close to a top finish any time soon let alone a flag.

How can anyone perform at the highest level consistently with all this insecurity around the joint.

The board room is the most important aspect to get right at an elite club. Everything else is just a band aid in comparison

We've had two pieces of classified information leaked to the media over the past week and we seem to be the only club who experiences that.

That's unprofessional on so many levels and whoever is responsible should be kicked out the front door. It's unfortunate that those likely responsible for leaking the information are those who paid for that door.

We won't truly be a relevant and fully functional club until this mess is cleaned up once and for all and that starts with cutting off all ties to those who are in it for self gratification.
Spot on with all of this. :thumbsu:

The board is way too big and it obviously has someone or some people that love the feeling of being important and in turn enjoy the attention of journalists like Caroline Wilson, Jon Ralph and co.

I remember Lauraine Diggins was a rat. The board set her up by giving her false information which leaked to The Age.

The board needs to come down by almost half and some of the dead wood needs to move on.

It's pretty easy to blame the recruiters but player development surely has something to do with it.
I find it hard to believe that if some of the players Melbourne drafted with early picks (Scully, Trengove, Blease....) were picked up by Geelong, they wouldn't be any different...

Just gutted that a bloke making his money on pokie machines is ruining our great club and NO ONE has the balls to tell him to F**K off! I worry about the close relationship of LoGiudice and Mathieson. The destabilisation of this club is becoming a laughing stock for the rest of the competition. Time to seperate ourselves from relying on his pokie money support and find other avenues of funding.
