It's Judd. He led us out of the wilderness. I was 16 when we got him. Before then nearly my entire football life was wooden spoons and darkness. Judd brought hope to younger Carlton supporters who have only known the dark times.

Judd leaving will be a sad sad day.

I was driving. Suspected the news was coming but that didn't stop me almost veering into oncoming traffic when it did.

I had to pull over to compose myself. Great day. :thumbsu:

School. My brother told me when I got home.

Although I must admit I don't think I realised at the time how big it was. I knew he was good, but I don't think I understood the gravity until the start of 2008 and the hype and hope and excitement back around the club.

Supposedly studying for uni. Basically camped on bigfooty hitting refresh every 15 seconds, arguing over supposed trades with West Coast supporters and listening to SEN.

What a time to be alive :p

I got the early mail he was coming.
My ex-girlfriend used to work with an ex-Carlton Board member and he told her.

I got an email about this time of year all of those years ago with nothing in the subject line, and when I opened it all it said was

Chris Judd will be playing for Carlton next year

Fair to say I was beyond happy when I read that.

I'm strangely OK with this. I love Juddy and am grateful for everything he has given us, but he has nothing left to prove and it feels right for him to go out while he's still playing some great footy rather than running around past his use by date. I wish him luck in anything he decides to do, am so grateful I was around to see him play, and hope to see Oscar playing for us in about 16 years time :D *

*Ignore this paragraph if the rumour turns out to be untrue.

Hungry Jacks when a mate told me. I played it cool but couldn't stop smiling the rest of the week.

I was in Melbourne going to a concert and I heard it.

That night we stopped in for a bite to eat at a restuarant with my date (later became my wife) and the HUN had his picture on the back in a Carlton top running in a game (the blues top was imposed). The paper was released early.

I held up the paper and made my girl take a picture of me and the Juddster.

Til this day, she says that I love Judd more than her. She may well be right ;)

In the car listening to SEN. As soon as it came through was on the phone to my Dad, both of us excited like school girls. 2nd greatest Carlton memory behind the '99 Prelim.

As much as that was one of the best days of my life, I remember thinking that trading Josh Kennedy and draft pick 3 will come back to bite us.
In the end, I found a whole new passion for my Blues and what Judd brought to us.
If only we had of hung onto Kennedy. Pick 3 was fine to lose in the deal.
2011 could have been a whole lot different had Kennedy been on our side.

Did I hear one of the disembodied voices on SEN say that West Coast asked for Fev before 'settling' on JJK? I think it may have been on Finey and Robert Shaw's Sunday morning show.

I am pretty sure Fev's name was tossed up. Not sure if it was by WCE or us? Hindsight eh!!!

A Chris Judd midfielder to a struggling club is more important than Masten and Kennedy.

Don't forget how good he was for us in that 4 year period, not to mention how he lifted our profile off field.
Haven't forgotten. Wouldn't change him coming to us! Maybe just the trade scenario if at all possible.
