People need to get a few things straight.

1. They might have a reliable source with correct information. Doesn't mean what they say will actually happen. People change their minds and the club doesn't always get what it wants/who they are chasing etc.

For example the club might be into Boyd and he might be keen on the idea at the moment. Doesn't mean that when the trade period comes that someone will change their mind or something will come up and it will fail to happen. Same with players signing, you never know when a player or manager will change their mind.

2. People who in the past have posted information may well have had a reliable source at the club. Doesn't mean they still do and always will. I remember a few of those who regularly posted rumors disappeared once Ratten and his crew were given the chop. More than likely that who ever the source of their information was was sacked.

3. People have the right to post what ever they hear in this thread and are under no obligation for it to eventuate or be proven correct. That's why it's a rumor thread and not a fact thread.

- Blues getting Mitchell & Jon Patton
- Swans getting 2nd & 4th round pick from Blues
- Giants get 1st round pick & 3rd round pick from Blues
- Swans get Ruckman Rory Lobb in exchange for 3rd round pick from Giants

Thoughts on trade rumours?

I think would be ok only concern is giving away all our picks but might be worth it

Fair point, nothing categorically since though. MS3 also said Boyd was going nowhere for 5 years. Everyone has a different take on things.

Pretty sure he also gave us the low down on a couple of re-signings early this year, Yarran etc

And pretty sure he dropped Thomas last year too

But in all seriousness i'd love Patton and Mitchell for all our picks. Trade off Walker/Warnock/Lucas/Garlett for a few picks in the 20-40 range and we're golden

I don't see them cutting the General though.

And too be honest i'm not sure who I prefer Boyd or Patton.

Positives:
Boyd was the standout No.1 in 2013
Boyd is an imposing figure at over 200cm
Boyd barracks for Carlton
Boyd is only 19

Negatives
He hasn't beaten the world at AFL level yet (but he's barely played and is still extremely young)


J. "The General" Patton
Positives:
Patton has 3 seasons of AFL experience
Patton looks quality
He has a cool nickname


Negatives:
Patton has not set the wolrd on fire
Patton was not the standout in his draft year either (O'Meara, Hogan and COniglio all up there) meaning that his U/18 potential is not only dwindling as he plays mroe but isn't as high as Boyd's was
He's a couple of years older than Boyd (which coudl be a positive or a negative)


To be honest I'd prefer Boyd, but we'd be winning either way.

We would have to cough up our first two picks which is a massive move

Or a Yarran which would be stupid as we already lack depth

I think we had all better hope Levi is the real deal. Certainly he marks it better than most and his curve is trending up

Happy to set a few things straight:

Firstly: As a few have already mentioned, I could post a number of rumours per week that I hear, but I choose not to. My source is extremely close behind the scenes at the club. Sure not everything that I get told happens however I can guarantee you that what I post is definitely happening behind the scenes or being spoken about within the club.

Secondly: Its your choice to read what I post. Im more than happy to keep away, however there are more good people on this site than cynics and I am on here because I love our club just as much as you all. If I wasn't in the position to have someone with a connection to the club, I too would be on here hanging on to someone that has some inside info. It's info I am happy to share, whether we like it or not. If you choose to believe the things I post, then great, if you don't, I will still sleep at night.

Thirdly: I am a HE
