Seems to me that Docherty is being developed into a mid.
Clean hands are awareness are something we need from guys in the centre. Robinson can't give us that.

Robinson and Jaensch are both out of contract.
Agree with all of that. But we need more mids. About to lose Judd, Carrots and soon Brock. And we don't have enough clean mids as it is now. Losing Robbo + some of the older ones isn't going to help.

any chance we can get a second rd? They did give a first for Tambling :p

After his year Mitch is definitely worth a second round pick.

Quality over quantity.
Not wanting to lose Robinson but I don't really consider him a mid. Not terrific inside and not great on the outside.

Bell could be handy but he has to learn to use that body to support team-mates.

Cripps for 2015...:)

Jaensch is a player I've never really rated but he is putting together a very solid season. Started out as a small forward but was switched into the backline after failing to have any impact consistently. He has really come on over the past 12-18 months to cement his spot in Adelaide's best side in the back pocket.

I don't want to trade Robinson but if we do move him on to Adelaide I'd be more inclined to look at one of their younger Victorians or even a draft pick.

Kerridge would be my number one target as a really strong bodied young midfielder who hasn't cemented his spot in Adelaide's best side despite putting in some strong performances over the past two years.

The other player I'd consider (not in a straight swap) is Jarryd Lyons. Victorian kid who is a strong inside player who is very good at stoppages. Can also go forward and have an impact. Hasn't been able to break into the senior side on a regular basis - owing to Adelaide's healthy inside midfield stocks - and at 22 years of age I reckon he'd be one who could really benefit from a fresh start in his home state.

Adelaide will probably try rip us off again like they did with Sauce. He's uncontracted, do we really have any power?
Not if he flat out wants to leave our bargaining power rests with him.

If he is happy to stay we do.

He is a clear performer and best 22 even when we finished 5th,has cleaned up his disposal ALOT this year probably more than he gets credit for.

Worth more than just their 3rd

Not sure he's a clear performer. He isn't a star of our team. He's good at attacking the footy and laying bumps. Every now and then he will play a game that will make people take notice but it doesn't last.

I would hope he stay because I don't think his value reflects the loss he would be to our side in particular.

No star but a solid contributor and has been for a few years now.

His disposal has been very good thus year and has been worth more than a few bumps and tackles for our wins.

Agreed. He's also been suspended 3 times with his bad record hanging over his head for future incidents. No club (ourselves included) should be paying a second rounder for a guy that misses that many games through suspension.

Anyway, wrong thread for it. Happy to concede here haha.
