Play Janmaat up front by himself. He can set'em up and put'em in.

Haha! Apparently he may have been responsible for Czech Republic getting a winner overnight (hopefully the Pardew effect isn't getting to him already!)

That first side is good - I am not too keen on us playing two average strikers! One at a time is plenty. You're right, where the F is Ferreyra?

I don't mind the look of young Perez - looked really good against City. Probably one for the future but think Riviere definitely needs a partner upfront. Cisse back in full training though!

Hopefully Chucky reveals himself soon though, surely can't take that much time to get match fit (players are usually pretty unfit early in the season anyway).

Yeah he was..that's what I was referring to.Headed it back to the keeper from about the penalty spot, missed the keeper hit the post and the Czech bloke knobbed it in.
This is what I was hoping Cashley would do and I guess it is what he's good at..money.Rangers are kaput unless they get a financial saviour. They have been comprehensively mismanaged and have had a series of very rich snouts in the financial trough walking away with golden handshakes, consultancy fees, management charges and have also suffered from some diabolical decision making.
Enter Cashley and the free lunches would be over and like Newcastle there is a massive tribe of fanatics ready to get behind any success.
How's your credit rating Tige???Can we do something here??:D:D

Poor Janmaat, hope that's not a sign of things to come - so many players have started off well for us before regressing under Pards :(

Haha, I really hope it's true - nothing against Rangers but if its them or us, I'd rather he packs up and leaves. Easy Champions League money but the TV money won't be there plus I don't think the SPL would have the same global audience the EPL does so his Sports Direct logos branded everywhere might not get as much TV time (unless he only cares about potential coverage from the Celtic and CL games?).

Ha, my credit rating probably isn't flash - bought my first house earlier this year and the mortgage repayments are eating up half my pay every month. Not sure the bank would be willing to extend their loan to $230m so we can buy the club :p

Hoping a saviour will come along and save us - don't need necessarily need a money bags owner or oil baron, just someone who genuinely wants the club to do well and actively try and push us up the table. Not too much to ask surely? :)

I honestly think it's a win-win situation.Good for the 'Gers who either get financial stability quick smart or face administration;and good for NUFC cos his work is basically done.
I despise the man for his attitude to on the park success but must begrudgingly acknowledge the financials.
$230 m is a bit out of my league as well.Something will happen this time I reckon.Cashley has the sniff of mega loot north of the border and must do a deal to unload Newcastle if he is going to cash in.
He must know we could be relegated and worth half money before season's end.He can get out soon with reasonable profit and into another enterprise with greater profit potential.
I can probably give him a tenner to help get it done.
Wouldn't mind a six-pack of oil barons meself:D:D

Hmmm, I was pretty skeptical before but maybe the hope is starting to flow in after reading your post scon

Very interesting article this one - Mike Ashley actually (completely serious) speaks for the first time to the media since our relegation!!!

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/finally-newcastle-owner-mike-ashley-4197405

"Newcastle’s retail arm, which has been taken over by Sports Direct is worth £3.4m of business the company. That’s £3.4m off Newcastle’s turnover, including whatever profit it brings.

Rangers retail business, now in the hands of Sports Direct, is worth £3.8m in turnover."

As you say, there might be a gold mine further north - the merchandise business of Rangers is already more than our own...

He get's the money from the club's sale (gets enough to cover his loan too) and reinvests some of it (Rangers would be a hell of a lot cheaper that us) into the poor Glaswegians...

We're a club that can boast the third best attendance in the PL, have a 52k seat stadium in a football mad city that turns up to games every week without fail and Ashley had done a good job fixing up our finances - reducing the wage bill etc. Maybe, just maybe we'd be seen as an attractive buy...:)

LOL there's a poll at the bottom of that article. Says it all!!

Newcastle fans! Which would you rather, Premier League with Ashley or Championship (or worse) without him?
  • Premier League with Ashley - 38%

  • Championship (or worse) without him - 63%

I voted Championship haha - has been a while since I've enjoyed being a Toon fan. Current manager/regime have done a great job turning fans away as evidenced by the poll results :(

Aarons out of the Southampton game with injury but Colback and Tiote chances to come in.

Ferreyra also set to miss with a back injury :(

Hopefully Gouffran has a good game, his spot in the side is under threat.

We are no chance unfortunately :(
One of my Staffies used to look as though he was going to be killed in the first minute or two of a fight with a bigger heavier dog. He'd charge in and drop his head, presenting the top of his neck to the other dog.The dog inevitably grabbed hold.
The nasty little Stafforshire fighting dog would then proceed to use his great strength and piles of loose skin the dog had hold of to work his jaws onto the other dog's throat.
Seen some terrified looks come over the faces of big Bull Mastiffs and other "favourites".
So I'll agree we're correctly a profound underdog but we're a chance in a two dog fight.;):thumbsu:

Commiserations scon for your freo boys, hope the Toon give you a bit more cheer tonight!

NUFC OFFICIAL XI (4-2-3-1)

Krul
Janmaat Willo Colo Haidara
Colback Anita
Cabella Sissoko Gouffran
Riviere

NUFC OFFICIAL SUBS

Elliot
Taylor Tiote Obertan
Ameobi Armstrong Perez

Interesting, no Dummett. Great to have Tiote on the bench too. No Aarons will hurt, not much on the bench that might be able to turn the game if things go bad...
