He's safe according to SSN, even if we lose to Swansea. This is a nightmare!

For such a smart businessman, Cashley really has no idea! What's going to change by this weekend to turn things around? We've almost got a full squad available (De Jong and young Aarons probably the only first team players unavailable - says a lot though if we're relying on kids like Armstrong and Aarons to be vital to turning our fortunes around).

He's ultimately gambling on the future of the club and remaining a PL club.

I read an article saying Ashley might be holding on Pardew purely to spite the fans. He's notorious for holding grudges, wouldn't surprise me if there was some truth to it.

Another contradiction from the man himself :drunk:

Was just reading that! Ferreyra played too  He exists!

I wouldn't be surprised if neither make the bench for the Swansea game despite Pardew saying he needs to 'change things up'. Maybe he'll chuck Steven Taylor in to partner Colo and let Williamson play as a target man

I'd play the whole team that played overnight against Swansea! Couldn't do much worse

So true. Maybe get Shearer, Beardsley, Gazza and co to dust off the old boots and get them out there. At least you'd know they'd be giving 110% for the shirt :D

I'd possibly even take Boumsoung haha

Ah Boumsong and Bramble...they were the days. At least we all could have a laugh at some of the comical mistakes they made.

I remember feeling disappointed to be sitting 8th - 14th during those days. How times and expectations have changed under Ashley!

Had a Geordie mate who succumbed to long term depression and killed himself. His brother spoke at his funeral and likened life in general to being a Newcastle fan with all its ups and downs, ecstatic celebrations and numbing defeats.
He specifically recalled Titus' decision making saying that was how he regarded his brother's final act as "Bramble like;completely out of the blue and inexplicable!Disappointing and tragic but I'm not going to hold it against him!"
My memory doesn't do it justice it was a great eulogy from a life long supporter.

I'd be happy with Souness at this point!

Pardew with half a brain and different accent.
Probably was a bit tough and wore more expensive suits and watches but other than that same shit different era.
No actually that's a bit unfair he did actually win a few things,so yeah get him in.(How's his heart??)

That's actually a really poetic way of putting it (with an apt Toon spin to it)!

If nothing else, supporting the Toon is just a big roller coaster, so many ups and downs. The sweetest of joys, the most gloomy of lows. Lots of side swerving in between. Just when things are going along nicely at the minute, they can change in a heartbeat. When times are at their darkest, they can be suddenly lit up out of the blue. Just like life really!

Sorry to hear about your mate scon. Here's hoping he's keeping Sir Bobby company! :)

First Ben Arfa and Yanga Mbiwa, now it looks like Tiote could be the next out the door. Wants a new challenge - I think that's code that he just is sick of the circus the club is. A club of our size and stature should be doing more but is totally devoid of ambition and direction. :(

In our relegation season, there was a bit of an exodus in January...at this rate, I can see others wanting to join Tiote on getting off the sinking ship.

Sounds like you could be describing Richmond there also! Haha :)

Wants to stay in England too, if we were any good he'd want to stay with us, the fans love him. All things considered he is probably our best player TBH.

Cheers for your condolences Newcy. No doubt comparing notes with Sir Bob;he was a bit of a Laurent Robert on the park;)
Watched Yanga-Mbiwa playing for Roma in the Champions, looked tough, organised and stylish away from Pussdew and in an organised side.
An exodus of what class we do have would certainly be no surprise come the January window.:straining:

Haha! Yep, I must have a compulsive need to feel pain frequently...or I fundamentally hate myself for supporting 2 teams that have given me innumerable amounts of pain and stress over the years. Won't have done my life expectancy any favours! I like to think of it as character building. Probably how I cope :D

Agree on Tiote, would be my choice for next captain - especially with Colo probably being on his last legs/looking past it. Arsenal have been interested in him for some time I think.

Really need a change in manager! I think the players must be sick of Pardew too. Get in someone they can respect and they might consider staying. At this stage, Ashley's going to need to spend a bit in January to try and stave off relegation...if players are leaving, then even more will need to come in and fill the gaps.

This doesn't fill me with confidence that a change could be on the horizon either...

How you know FIFA is fake: Jack Colback just scored a double vs the Mackems at the Stadium of Light in a 6-0 smashing. How good would that be though haha

Just got my copy in the mail yesterday!

Sold Colo, both Taylor's, Gutierrez (felt bad though) and trying to sell Obertan (no takers though...surprise surprise). Biggest surprise though...Adam Armstrong, 17 year old toon prodigy loaned to REAL MADRID?!? Why they want him? I have no idea! Hoping he develops a bit on loan but don't think he'll get much game time in Spain! :drunk:

Won our first preseason game 3-2. Playing on the PS4, not sure if it's the change in console but the defending seems a lot harder than it used to be! I could just be rusty though...or perhaps our defenders really can't defend! :p

I just finished season 1 - sold Krul to Man U for 15m pounds and De Jong to Wolfsburg for 16m. Spent the money on Lavezzi and Lacazette :D

Also spent up on a couple of defenders so apart from MYM, all of our other rubbish CBs are gone.

Haha I put an offer in for Lacazette but Lyon wanted something like $35m so I ended up buying Saviet from Bordeaux instead. Got injured in the 3-2 win and is out for 3 months. Bought a Brazilian CB to replace Colo (decided to cash him in when an offer came along before he started complaining about the weather...) and he also went down with injury for 3 months

Bought Aussie RB McGowan and Boyata from City so might be forced into throwing one of them in to partner Yanga.

I got Lavezzi in my Ultimate Team though - going Argie this year!
