I'm in London at the moment, went to Palace v QPR & had a great time. Also saw Barca v Rayo Vallecano last weekend (6-1), so the two matches I've seen have had 11 goals scored and big wins to the home teams, can't complain really! The Palace folk really love Pards, I joined in with a few of their songs but drew the line at 'Super Alan Pardew" haha. Was hoping for a late appearance from Shola, but unfortunately didn't happen.

Going to try and find a pub to watch the Everton game tomorrow. Can't see us getting any joy out of the game though.
That's so awesome mate, hope you're having a ripper time!

I don't particularly miss Pardew (though he's doing very well for Palace) - glad to hear he is seemingly being adored by their fans though. Always had a soft spot for Palace.

Glad you didn't go to Goodison either robertg22 - many saying we were absolutely abject and embarrassing last night. No cup game last weekend and Everton with their Europa league commitments.

Game was on at 3am here Monday morning so I didn't get up for this one (as I expected the worst). Not sure where to begin really - Colo the clown got sent off too and now will miss the derby. Good thing we have so many fit and available CBs ready to step in and replace him. Oh wait. :$

Honestly scratching my head who we can call up - Dummett won't be back this season I don't think? Streete and Mabau (the young Swiss defender) are both loaned out to Rangers. Maybe Satka? If only Curtis Good was fit - he'd have probably got his PL debut. :(

Some talk of a free agent coming in - Joseph Yobo is available apparently (hasn't played for anyone all season so would presumably take some time to get up to fitness). If only we could recall Lascelles...

Realistically, probably Janmaat next to Willo (shudder) with Raylor going to RB and Haidara (or Jonas) to LB. Anita looked solid as a fullback earlier on in his Toon career.

Krul for the first goal - would almost put that down as a blunder/OG - should have done better IMO.

Gouffran (no surprise there) at fault for the second for a terrible penalty to concede.

From the highlights, looks like we at least had a few decent thrusts going forward - and Carver saying we could have had a penalty earlier on, which if awarded, may have altered the result but either way seems we were comprehensively outplayed by a team that had to rotate 4-5 players from their Europa league first leg match a few days earlier.

The only highlight/saving grace was seeing the Mackems lose 4-0 to Villa. :D

We stink but at least not as bad as the unwashed down the road!

The irony is without a fit CB next to the liability Williamson - unless the unproven Satka turns out to be the next Woodgate, we're going to be opened up even moreso. Imagine if the mackems stay up by the skin of their teeth - thanks to picking up another derby win at our expense.

Had a great time at Selhurst Park, 25k people there created a far better atmosphere than the ~100k at Camp Nou.

Just saw those videos, wowwwwwwwww that was bad, that first one looked like men vs boys, completely outclassed. Second one WTF is Gouff doing there in the first place? Wow. Third not much better.

Yeah, Palace always seem to have a great atmosphere on the TV as well as plenty of pre match stuff (cheerleaders and even an eagle mascot I think?). I wish our club had half as much life in it, Ashley's sucked it pretty dry.

Just on Gouff, Carver seems to blame the loss to Everton on Riviere - Gouff doesn't even get a mention! Absolutely clueless is Carver.

Blames Riviere for not tracking back for the first goal and then praises the Everton forwards because they held up the ball and brought others into the game - to be fair, even Shearer would struggle to hold up the ball in our current, rudderless team.

Also, has to be said that its great man management when your best striker is out until the final 3 games and all you have is a low on confidence striker in his first PL season. Rip him to shreds will definitely encourage him. Good thing we've got Chucky as another reliable go to option... :$

Anyone here watch True Geordie's videos? The man has a way with words for describing how life as a Toon fan is at present.

He does a lot of other stuff but he's usually bang on the money for most things NUFC I reckon.

Also, seems like Janmaat will (likely) be deployed as Willo's partner in CB...despite never previously playing there in his life before the Everton game. As a result we'll lose his thrust from the right. At least Sammy or Gouff will undoubtedly step up!

He speaks well, would love him to be our next captain...sadly he'll liked be sold off long before that becomes a possibility though.

Next season we must give Lascellas and Good a chance to form a strong bond for the future, both guys are talented and have a great future. It may be to early for them however I just can't see MA spending 7-10mill quid on a decent Centre Back.

Words can't explain how friggin much I hate Carver, he is the most useless sod that has ever sat in our dugout, dead set big Sam Allardyce and Pards look like masterminds in comparison.

Why haven't we heard about Lee Clarke? I'd be chuffed to give him a go if we stick to UK head coaches, he would be my number 1 choice if that was the case.

Time for Chucky to play, the loan spell has been a disaster but surely he adds more the Rivière?

On Lascelles, I saw a rumour he may appear for us before the end of the season. Apparently Forest are no real chance to make the playoffs and so there was a suggestion we could try and recall him (and incur some kind of financial penalty in the process as he doesn't have a recall clause). Would be nice to see him get a few games in at the tail end of the season to give him a taste for the PL.

Just realised a few nights back that in Colo, Williamson and Taylor - we've had the same CB's we had in the championship still on the books! Obviously Yanga was bought and sold but if anyone needed any explanation as to why our CBs are so poor, that would be a good start!

Also, I believe I saw somewhere Santon has signed for Inter for about $2.8m after making 10 apps for them. So much for Ashley's 'buy young talent and sell for profit' (didn't we sign him originally for about $5m?)

Sunderland have moved quickly and appointed Dick Advocaat as their manager until the end of the season - I honestly have no idea why we didn't do the same. Yes, by all means make a permanent appointment in the summer but Carver is showing how out of his depth he is as caretaker. He can't get the players prepped for match days, makes the same horrible substitutions/lineups (Gouffran starting at Everton in front of Cabella and staying on the ground after his penalty lol) and just looks like he has no idea how to get Mike's coveted top 10 finish.

He will most likely add a big loss this weekend and then a derby defeat in the game after that to his glowing record.

Love it! Hadn't seen his videos before, will keep an eye out for more
He's pretty entertaining, has quite a few good vids too. His celebration after Pardew's departure was pretty funny. :D

Apparently Colo has flown back to Argentina for a 5 week holiday while he serves his ban. If that's true, that's very disappointing from the captain given our struggles. He should be around to lead and support his teammates. Hopefully he isn't getting paid his wages while away.

If this is the case he should be sacked! What a scumbag. The club is in free fall and he is having a South American holiday, I am hating everything our club is doing EVERYTHING. grrrrrr

Surely if they appoint Carver full time, then thousands won't renew?

I've been reading a lot of comments and it seems there are still plenty of locals who are planning to still renew their season tickets whilst a number saying they won't. I get it's hard for the them but surely the only way we can stop Cashley (or at least make him accountable) is to not attend games?

Wish the SackPardew folks would get together and try and organise an united 'anti Ashley' movement or something to try and get the fans organised against him.

This is from a match preview I read earlier - looks like we're pretty rooted again for injuries.

Mehdi Abeid, Rolando Arrons (both thighs), Massadio Haidara, Paul Dummet, Cheick Tiote (knee), Steven Taylor (calf) and Siem de Jong (collapsed lung) all remain side-lined, leaving Carver with little choice but to make changes where he can for the visit of the Gunners.

We've had a week, surely the club would have tried getting a free agent in or something just to give a bit of cover. Had a quick think of a possible team, the defence looks embarrassingly bad (would struggle to keep a clean sheet in the championship).

Bench is very weak also. Hopefully Carver at least gives the kids (Armstrong and maybe debuts for Satka and Kemen).

-------------Krul--------------
Raylor Janmaat Williamson Jonas
-------Colback Anita--------
Cabella-----Perez------Sissoko
-----------Riviere-------------

Would leave a bench of Woodman (GK), Gouffran, Armstrong, Ameobi, Obertan, Satka, Kemen. Ferreyra, Might be a chance to come in surely given how light we are for forwards.

Arsenal will destroy us. :(

I hate to be negative as well but...

We've got the third worst defence in the league (for goals conceded) with 46. The only teams below us are Burnley (47) and QPR (52).

Now have a look at our net run of games...

March 2015

Premier League
Newcastle V Arsenal

April 2015

Premier League
Sunderland V Newcastle

Premier League
Liverpool V Newcastle

Premier League
Newcastle V Tottenham

Premier League
Newcastle V Swansea

All I can say really is the next month is going to be painful lads. We (very likely IMO) could have the worst goals conceded come the end of next month.

Thank feck the AFL season isn't too far away, that'll be a welcome distraction from this endless trauma. :D

We will end up with the worst GA in the PL and are every chance to be in a relegation shit fight if we don't get points against the Scum.

Very tedious and worrying times.

Gee, I just cringe reading Carvers interviews, the guy is in well over his head.

This guy has no idea!

Check out a few of his comments from this article.

‘They know there has to be a clear-out,’ he said. ‘It’s pretty obvious, to the man in the street and to the professionals — it has to be done.
‘There are people out of contract (referring to Sammy Ameobi, Jonas and Raylor), people who are not good enough — they know that.’

‘But I must admit I’ve never been in a position like this (with injuries and suspension) and I don’t think anybody I’ve ever worked with has, either.
‘I’m missing my best players and that’s how I look at it. With Papiss Cisse it’ s like Tottenham being without Harry Kane. With Siem de Jong, it’s like them being without Christian Eriksen.

I would keep all three of Jonas, Raylor and Sammy (at least as backups because I don't see Cashley allowing a big spending window) ahead of guys like Williamson, Colocinni and Gouffran. On the topic of clear outs, Carver and Ashley would be top of the list! Wouldn't mind giving Marveaux a chance next season either given how poor our wide player options are.

Also comparing Siem De Jong to Eriksen is laughable. De Jong's played a massive 3 times for us this season whilst Eriksen has about 9-10 goals from 30 odd games. :$

JC is an absolute cock, wtf is he doing giving these type of statements? I actually think Sammy is a decent footballer and in the right environment would shine, he would probably higher echelon of he was at Spurs.

DeJong is talented, similar in vein to Erikson but he has no runs on the board in England, why even make the comparison? Talk about getting the players on your side? He is an idiot, a sad fat slob.

He is right, we need a clear out and it starts with him. Piss off JC, you're not wanted.
