Carver never ceases to amaze me with his excuses. Here's his comments on why we lost at QPR...

“I can’t fault the lads for their effort again in a hot, warm climate,” he said.

“They were hot conditions, and we kept going and going and going. Sometimes the quality’s not there and you’re not good enough. Next week is a huge game for this football club. I’ll tell the players to keep away from the TV and going online, to keep them focused on preparation.”

Really???

It was 18 degrees!

Maybe its just me but it seemed in the second half QPR were more hungry, prepared to work harder and get stuck in. Where was the effort from our boys?

Freddie Shepherd reckons Ashley will sell if we go down. That could be a silver lining...

Failing that, at least we can say we 'control' our own destiny - pretty far fetched given we've picked up 1 point in the last 30 available but if we can get a win, we'll be safe. Better to have that in our favour than needing to rely on results elsewhere to save us - though you could legitimately argue we need Man Utd to save us from going down (by beating Hull) because we look incapable of saving ourselves.

Makes me hope we go down then. Willing to take that hit.

Perhaps either increasing the chances of him selling up shop...or him increasing our debt, it seems most of the top earners at the club don't have wage drop clauses if the club is relegated....

"Moussa Sissoko, Papiss Cissé and Cheick Tiote’s agents are all looking for new clubs, while Telegraph Sport has also been informed that there are serious doubts about whether goalkeeper Tim Krul and right-back Daryl Janmaat will still be at the club next season."

Good win yesterday btw NUFC Tiger - must have been nice to break the losing streak against my mob!
Haha did cheer me up a bit robertg22! I was thinking/hoping on Saturday that Newcastle would win and then at least both of us would have something to take from the weekend. Alas wasn't to be. :(

Sadly for you, both black and white teams lost...though I think you guys won in the VFL over us. That's something. :)

By the way, here's our new home kit for next season - now with 50% more blue!

Probably could have used some players who are likely to be at the club next season as well as a less ridiculous motto. :D

Staggering isn't it? Makes you wonder what we're paying these guys. One top 5 finish since we got promoted and only once besides that have we finished top 10; whilst on 2 occasions, we've flirted and been involved in relegation battles. Surely if our wage bill is in the top 8, surely we should be sitting in and around that mark?

Collo is on over 4 million pounds a year if I remember correctly ....makes you wonder if we can clear the decks we could bring in some serious players*

How many players have had interrupted seasons? It's one thing to look at the wage bill, it's another to see the wages of players that are actually making it onto the pitch.

Crazy stuff given he hasn't played particularly well in a long time - as well as spending plenty of time out of the team with injuries or suspensions.

That's another worry Nardz, the last few years we've seemingly been copping way too many injuries. Even currently, Physioroom.com has us with 7 injured players (including big wage earns like Tiote and Steven Taylor - plus one of our big signings this season in De Jong. Plus you have squad players like Armstrong, Elliot and Haidara also on the list).

This graphic is also damning - we sit top of the 'injury league' by a fair margin too. Pretty sure we won this last season as well...

Not sure who our medical/phyio staff are but needs to be looked at because we're not even going deep into the cup competitions or playing in Europe and we're having excessive injuries to a tiny squad.
