Really good read on Mbemba lads - seems really motivated and determined No ego either which is a plus.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-new-boy-chancel-9708395

I think Lascelles will be a bit raw to start regularly in the PL so definitely need an experienced defender next to Mbemba (who's only 181? but with a great leap and electric pace). He apparently kept Ibra quiet in a champions league game so his lack of height doesn't seem to be a huge issue.

We're also being linked to another Dutch player - Jean-Paul Boetius of Feyenoord who's a winger and been capped for the national team. Looks a great prospect - quick, skilled and can cross. Him and Aarons could cause havoc down the flanks.
Sounds like a legend... We better get into him with learning english!

I'm not fussed about his height - 181/182 whatever he is it's irrelevant, how many 6ft3+ forwards are in the PL? Not many at all, the guy has a nice build, is super quick and has been said to play the ball rather than the man anyhow which will work in his favour. Keep in mind Sergio Ramos is 183cm and he is one of the top 3 or 4 CB's in the world!

Highly unlikely but wowee, imagine if we pulled this off? I watched a lot of Ligue1 on bet 365 and Moutinho is like an Iniesta clone, obviously a level below but theirs a lot of simularities.. Great with the ball at this feet and is really creative in the middle of to park, can knock them in as well but creates a lot more.

FIFA investigating Mbembas age! He has had scientific tests that proves his 20 and Anderlecht have those results so im comfortable with that.

Saw the Moutinho link last night and couldn't believe it - surely not right? If we were lining him up (and that was the reason we didn't pursue Cabaye), that would be a fair coup.

Then again, I didn't expect we could land Wijnaldum or Mitrovic so maybe there is a chance...

Mbemba also been spotted on Tyneside, hopefully announced later today (once the birthday business is sorted).

...well my voodoo witch doctor was out of town this weekend. :(

At least we still won on aggregate eh? ;)
Your kicking was indeed shitter than ours and ours was truly shizenhausen:straining:
Certainly a nail biter,in a building rivalry.
You'll beat the Hawks for us though, won't you??:thumbsu:

Yeah, definitely had out chances. Gutted for Houli too and his mistake ultimately costing us the game. The fact we could have jumped into the top 4 as well was just a bit more salt in the wounds!

Somehow I can't see Tige19's boys taking their foot off the pedal this Friday either...

Yeah I probably will - its a Hawk's home game right?

Not really looking forward to what could transpire on the night though.

If we were in good form and full strength AND the Hawks were missing a few I might have a glimmer of hope but things don't look good!

I've actually converted my gf to following the Tiges. Its taken some time but she's now got some tiger gear and an appreciation for some of the players now (she seems to particularly like the more handsome members of the team...go figure!).

Next mission is to get her to buy a membership! ;)

Argh - AFL talk! Pies have lost 5 in a row, all I care about at the moment is NUFC transfer rumours! ;) Having said that, I'm actually going to the Tigers/Hawks game on Friday night with my Richmond mates.

I read a ridiculous rumour that we are in the race for Nicolas Otamendi, surely not.... how good would that be though

Yeah, what's up with the pies mate? Buckley trying to do a Carver and lose 8 or 9 in a row? :p

Saw that rumour...surely not...price tag mooted of 30m - that's more than Mitrovic & Wijnaldum combined!

Geez, if we landed him though, I reckon I'd just about forgive Cashley for everything. That's showing ambition and then some! :D

I think Mbemba's work permit hearing is set for Wednesday (UK) so could be confirmed soonish.

Armstrong has gone out on loan to Coventry (league one) for 6 months - good move I think. Hope he can play regularly and develop. If he flourishes, we might be able to loan him out again in the second half of the season to a Championship side.

Think I also saw we may put a bid close to QPR's asking price for Austin - but they have some reservations over his shoulder (which has been injured 3 times in a year?) and want some kind of provision to cover them in that case.

Yeah I was going to post this! Is the jersey actually made by Adidas? The fit of the Adidas jerseys are so much better.. I love the badge, doesn't the 3 castles represent the city/the fans and the club as one? I think it's something like that.

I actually really like the new home jersey, I generally get it every year, I was just really disappointed with how big the medium size was.

I reckon I might get both! Though I do like this one. Just needs a Northern Rock or Newcastle Brown Ale logo slapped on the front.

Yeah, I think the coat of arms is the city of Newcastle's coat of arms so it has some relevance.
I think the first batch has already sold out haha.

Man I miss the Adidas kits. :(

Always confident you'd stitch'em and you stitched'em.

In the other code....
Team sheet strongish;squad pressure weak as:http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/08/fans-choice-of-newcastle-team-v-borussia-monchengladbach/

Need another centre back, striker, winger and there's quality available so there's no excuse for being soft dicked about it.
Is Cashley tending to default mode trying to get quality EPL performance by spending the least you can get away with??

Who wants to give their 11 for this weekebd??

------------------Krul----------------
Janmaat----Colo----Mbemba---Haidara
------------------Colback-----------------
Sissoko------------Wiji----------Aarons
--------------------------------------
-------------------Perez-----------------
-------------------Mitro-------------------

I really would love to see Perez play off the shoulder of Mitrovic, I think we will see the best of him when defenders focus on Mitrovic. Defence looks crap, it's a bit of a concern all 4 of the guys speak a completely different mother tongue, the communication is going to be a big concern. Janmaat and Colo speak good English, never hear Haidara speak but being from France you'd assume he speak English however Mbember doesn't know a word.

The saints could put 3-4 past us.

Mine is similar tige..

------------Krul-------------
Janmaat-Taylor-Willo--Haidara
----------Colback------------
Sissoko--Wijnaldum-----Aarons
----------De Jong------------
----------Mitrovic-----------

I think Mbemba & Colo won't be ready, leaves us with the horrible Willo and Saylor....

Tossed up between Perez and De Jong, have no preference there really, but leaning towards De Jong.
