I've seen over 4000 films and none from the 90s would make my all-time top 20. 90s might be my favourite decade for music, but I'd probably take a few other decades over it for film.

As a 90s kid there is a significant spike in my yearly viewing from 1995 until today (my highest pre-95 year is 1993 with 66 seen, whereas 1995-2018 are all 80-130 seen).

If I had to pick out one year in particular it would be 1997. Here are my top 30:

1. Jackie Brown
2. Titanic
3. Lost Highway
4. Happy Together
5. NGE: The End of Evangelion
6. Funny Games
7. The Ice Storm
8. Affliction
9. Hana-Bi
10. Perfect Blue

11. Princess Mononoke
12. Taste of Cherry
13. Boogie Nights
14. LA Confidential
15. Career Girls
16. Good Will Hunting
17. Gattaca
18. The Sweet Hereafter
19. Event Horizon
20. Grosse Pointe Blank

21. The Game
22. Cube
23. Ma Vie en Rose
24. Open Your Eyes
25. Starship Troopers
26. Live Flesh
27. Donnie Brasco
28. Men in Black
29. The Castle
30. The Lost World

Also has a galaxy of guilty pleasures.

80s is my favourite era music and movies, especially 84-85. Plus both my AFL team and NRL team won back to back flags in those years. An awesome time to be alive.

Nice choice. Jackie Brown just doesn't get enough love. QT's best work IMO.

No love for Eve’s Bayou?

I was a kid in the 90s, so I look at films of that decade as films I liked at the time vs films I have seen and liked since vs films I still like. The Silence of the Lambs is amazing, but I wasn't rushing down to Video Ezy to rent it when I was I as 7. Partly because it's rated MA15+/R18+ and partly because I never would have slept again...

90s gold that has stood the test of time:

Terminator 2
Toy Story
Jurassic Park
The Lion King
Forrest Gump

90s gold:

Home Alone
Wayne's World
Robin Hood: Men In Tights
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Days of Thunder
Hot Shots!
Point Break
Cool Runnings
Space Jam
American Pie
GoldenEye (mainly because of the video game that followed)

Movies I probably didn't watch until the 2000s but would watch again:

The Shawshank Redemption
Clerks
Good Will Hunting
American Beauty
BASEketball
The Silence of the Lambs
A Few Good Men
American History X
Romper Stomper

(yeah there are many more acclaimed classics like Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction etc.)
