Not at all likely here..... but with Melbourne claiming pick 23 is overs for Lumumba I wonder if Collingwood really would accept pick 33 (sourced from Geelong although I think theirs is 35 anyway).

Anyway for arguments sake say Collingwood would accept it and with Mcpharlin playing on we could really do with a player traded out for a pick or upgrade and so do we have anyone suitable for trading, possibly with pick 34, for pick 23?

Even though it's all second round 11 spots is a fair jump, not sure they'd accept Clancee, maybe the Freo board's resident trade option, aka Suban? Melbourne get Suban and Lumumba for pick 23, Collingwood get 34 for Lumumba (unders? but I suppose they're on the back foot if he has to go) and we get pick 23 for pick 34 and Suban.

Ok not gonna happen, but I'd probably take it.

They might even be keener on Duffy? and no I don't think they'd take Sylvia back

One selling point for Perth is that in the event of a Nuclear war we are probably the safest city on earth. There is a rock about 1km off the point of cap Leeuwin that is the exact opposite point on the globe to Washington D.C. We're therefore as far from the most likely place to be nuked as possible. As long as Stirling isn't a target but given the Russians could never get their nukes to actually fly we should be ok.

Sydney just had a very talented player get pushed out because they couldn't afford his request.

Who could turn down $500,000 for three years?

'Nafan' Brown is suggesting the Swans should get an end of first round as compo. Being $ydney, I wouldn't be surprised if the AFL did that glory be me dead
Just about to mention it

What a joke the AFL is. But I'm not surprised

They get a top 5 pick for pick 17.. Then straight back into a 1st rounder

Maybe. Do you think we'd get an end of first round for Duffield or someone else of that age profile under the same circumstances? I don't. I think they got that pick because they're the swans.
If Duffield was being paid $500,000 a year for three years I would expect it, we would be losing a very good player.

According to who? There is plenty to do not just in Perth but also all along the coast. People who say it is boring without having ever been here or stayed here for more than 2-3 days are buying into a stupid stereotype.

Sorry mate, I've lived here for most of my life and travelled all over the world. Perth is boring, and aside from Adelaide, I would argue the worst city in Australia... If it weren't for the oil and gas industry, I would have left years ago and never looked back... I would suggest most footballers would see it that way as well. As Adrian dodorro said.. It's like comparing an apple to a bag of peanuts, melbourne being the apple

Freo meeting with Kane Lucas.

Pick 9 a few years ago but I've never seen him offer anything, is an east freo boy. Would probably be a 4th round pick. Is a flanker type, with good speed.

What is boring about boating over to Rotto during the hot summer months, pulling up anchor in one the beautiful bays on offer, catching some crays? Then on the way home drop into the 'quokka arms' for a couple of cold jugs taking in the views across Thommo bay.

If you love the outdoors,Perth and WA is unreal IMO.

He was actually pick 12 in 2009. Has played 42 games in that time and made only 7 first team games this year. Still young at 23 but I fail to see what he could bring to the table...He's an "arc to arc" player according to the Northern Blues coach.

Think he would be better off up the road.

There's probably not a player available that I want less.

Possibly, but hes about as vanilla as they come.
Rookie pick at best imo. Can't see us getting him. He'd be close to the worst player on our list I'd think and wouldn't offer more than guys we'd have to trade out for the list space required to fit him on our list. Only one-two years younger in most cases as well. Obviously has/had talent as he was picked in the first round but he can't get a game for a very average carlton side.

On another note....Varcoe's talking to the Eagles. Could he do a job for us with that pace or is he too much of a downhill skier?

I personally don't think he'd get a gig..but interested to get opinion.

Pretty average player imo. Doesn't have much going for him but pace these days and his injury history isn't exactly too good either tbh,

I think Varcoe and Lucas will offer the same thing for West Coast and one will come much cheaper than the other. They are outside run and delivery players, just what they need.
