He is already on a damn good deal.

Probably has a look at the wages Rooney and RVP get over the road and the green eyed monster kicks in.

Anyway reports are that we're moving to a max basic salary of £140k a week with big incentives. So that might be a bone of contention.

However we get these stories every time Yaya is out of the country. Usually cleared up within days of his return.

He is on about the same.

what's this?

an actual transfer?

van wolfswinkel to norwich in the summer for 8.5 mil practically confirmed. top bit of business.

Very excited about the prospect of hearing countless commentators fumble over that name.

"What a strike from VAN WOLFSWINKEL!!!"

The good thing about the Suarez situation is that we have all the power. He is under contract until 2017 so we have no reason to sell. He would have to put in a transfer request and he doesnt seem the type to do so.

Going to be a tense summer I think. If I were Henry, FSG, BR and co, I would be looking to grab that marquee signing nice and early in the summer to show intent to Suarez that we are chasing top talent and looking to improve.

It's hard to sign top line talent when you don't play CL.

I think there's a snowballs chance in hell of Suarez staying at Liverpool through the summer. Bayern, City, Juve and possibly RM will rightly chase him.

The positive is that I can see Xabi going back to Liverpool, but not before he's surplus to requirements at RM. So likely when his contract expires.
Yeah there is a snowballs chance in hell that we keep a player contracted until 2017, who loves the club, that we don't need to sell because we aren't in any dire financial difficulty. Hard ask for us.

You won't hold on to him because you'll lose value. He wants to leave so the owners will cash in while they can. Suarez knows this is his best chance to find a top club and the owners will know its their best chance to get big money for him.

I forgot to mention Athletico Madrid. If they lose Falcao they'll take Suarez with some of the money.

Clubs have very little power, if a player wants to leave he will leave more often than not.

All depends if/how much Suarez wants to leave.

Do you actually believe the shit you post? Lol

Contrary to the opinion of a few posters on here, it's not set in stone that Suarez actually wants to leave. 99% of his recent interviews he's been overwhelmingly positive about his love for the club and his desire to stay at the club next season. He's made 1 remark saying other clubs are welcome to make offers for him if they want, but immediately qualified it by reaffirming how happy he is at Liverpool and that he saw his future at Anfield.

Eventually, he will want to leave and he will move on as do all players. However, the club is not as powerless in this scenario as you suggest. You only have to look at the recent Modric and Fabregas situations to see that even if the player is desperate for a move, the club does not have to sell if they don't want to (even though offers of £30-40m were made). Club Managing Director Ian Ayre made a point of mentioning this in his interview yesterday and pointed out that Suarez was still contracted for another 4 years, so it's clear what their stance is. We're also in a very strong position financially so there won't be any pressure to sell him with respect to that either.

Given the next 12 months are such a pivotal point in our rebuilding process I can't see Liverpool allowing him to leave, as at this point he is worth more to us than any amount we could expect to receive from his transfer fee. At the moment we are not in a position where we could realistically lure a player of similar calibre to replace him, and his presence in the squad will act as an incentive to other top quality players to join. In my opinion it would show a lack of ambition at the club if they were to just bend over and sell him in the summer, and I'm sure any prospective signings would recognize that too.

I think the club will be fair to him. If in 12 months time we haven't progressed as expected it and we aren't looking like qualifying for the Champions League, and if at that point he decides he wants to move elsewhere, then the club will allow him to move, but that won't be this summer.

IF he wants to leave, I think we could get away with keeping him for another season.

Borussia Dortmund star Mario Goetze has said he is open to joining Manchester United but admitted that a move is some time away. [Daily Mail].

As much as that would make me moist I doubt it.
