In an ideal world I would prefer Mourinho to take over from Wenger if it were possible.

Arsenal would give everything Mou would need for his ego. Big club, money, the chance to build his own history and the chance to prove he can win without Romans money.

Wouldn't you rather see Wenger given the money to spend?

If Mourinho went to PSG what players would he bring in? They have a pretty decent squad atm, maybe just some decent fullbacks?

It depends on how Wenger is going to spend really.

If he bites the bullet and culls the squad of the Chamakh, Park, Arsharvin, Squillaci, Santos, Bendtner, Denilson, Djourou and Frimpong that's a lot of players that need replacing just to have squad depth.

Add to that Diaby probably wont play again, Coquelin and Mannone probably wont make the cut and Sagna is out of contract and could possible leave Arsenal would be looking at -

3 Forward
5 midfielders
2 Centrebacks
2 full backs

If he's really intent on change then yes, give him one last chance to spend 70,80,90 million to overhaul the squad. He build championship teams on scraps so back him to make one with money.

If he's only paying lip service and only considering brining in 1-2 players then refuse. Give the money to someone like Mou who wont be afraid to chop and change everything.

Apart from Ibra, their forwards are pretty average.

They would also need centrebacks, Silva is a beast but if Sahko leaves they'll be sort of really talented backs.

Very good post :thumbsu: I totally agree with you, however all of this is based on one key assumption - that wenger will admit the squad isn't good enough. That is why I don't believe any of these 'clean out' stories we hear circulating.

Wenger is one of the most stubborn managers going around. Whilst the deadwood in the squad is clear for all to see, he is in complete denial. Remember, he bought these players. He himself built this squad. To cull them (which we bloody well need to), would be a major admittance that he got it wrong. And sadly as long as Wenger is in charge, these drastic squad changes will not occur.

At best, we can expect 2-3 signings to replace the 2-3 departures that will likely happen. However the bulk of the squad will likely be retained.

Now, now. Don't get too carried away.

All of that is worthless for Mourinho if you don't have champions league on offer.

Need to finish top 4 before worrying about things like that.

Its now possible to clean out the shit as their contracts are expiring or will expire at the end of next season.

Players who's contact expire at the end this season are:

- Fabianski
- Arshavin
- Squilacci
- Denilson (maybe)
---------------
* Shea
* Watts
* Eastmond
* Henderson
* Neita
* Boateng

*Reserve players.

Then their's:

- Bendtner
- Santos
- Park
- Frimpong
- Chamack
- Sagna
- Rosiscky
- Mannone

Who all have year remaining on their contracts.

From that list I get the feeling that at least 12 wont be here next season. Also wouldn't surprise me to see Vermaelen sold in the up coming transfer period.

This means we would need 1 new goalkeeper possibly two if the club feels Martinez wouldn't be able to be third choice, a new right back to replace Sagna, would need two new centre backs (one if Miquel is promoted), then you can expect a midfielder or two to be brought in as well a striker. So its defiantly possible that we could see 5-6 new players brought in. I also expect us to bring in one main man who will cost around 25m.

Rooney can barely speak English let alone French.

He won't go to PSG. It would almost be like moving to another country.
All he has to do is shack up with Joey Barton. Problem solved. Joey speaks fluent scouse, and can teach Wayne french.

Who the **** does Mancini think he is? It's not up to him to tell Kompany, as the Belgian captain, to pull out of a vital WC qualifier.
