I think the chances of a change at City have hugely decreased over the last week.

Not just the derby and cup win, but the noises coming from the club as well.

Around £30-£35m for Rooney is one thing, but nani worth up to £20m?! Dreaming. But value is in the eye of the beholder I guess, depends how much a club really wants him.

Well if Newcastle could somehow get £35m for Carroll, i'd be wanting United to demand atleast £50m for Rooney, not selling him for £30m, f*** that.

I can see both Nani and Rooney joining PSG in the summer.

It's not too far off.

United will want 30-40m for Rooney. They won't sell for less then that. Nani could go for around 10-20m. Whether that's from the one club is the question.
I was thinking more 40mil for Rooney and 15mil for Nani. On skill alone Rooney isn't worth 40mil but similar to Beckham, his profile is worth mega bucks. Rooney and Suarez would be worth the same amount imo

Hold out for £50m and you won't sell him. Then you'll have an ugly, fat granny shagging, chain smoking waster continuing his long running decline into his 30's and eating up £12m + of your wage budget.

Hope it happens. You'll never get another chance of making decent money out of him. He'll be worth less than £10m in two years time.

Rooney at his best and scoring goals is easily worth £50m.

Again, i'll bring up another example, Torres went for £50m and you seem to think we have no chance of selling Rooney for that same amount?

You keep on bringing up examples of people overpaying. There are only so many idiot buyers.

Torres and Carroll were in their early/mid 20's. You don't spend £50m on a player going on 29/30 with the body of someone going on 35/36.

Think of Van Persie as a better example of the price you pay for older players.

Rooney is still 27, and if i remember correctly, Torres was sold at that age too.

What's wrong with trying to squeeze every dollar you can from a club that wants Rooney?

Because if you demand more than any club is willing to pay you won't sell and you'll be left with a rapidly declining asset on you books chewing up £230k a week and running out of puff at the half hour mark of games.

FWIW Torres was 26. Rooney would be nearly 28. But with the way he looks after himself you can add another 3 or 4 years to that.

You're using very rare and uninformed examples. The Torres/carrol purchases were out of the box, its been publicy broadcast that Liverpool's strategy was to net at least £15m from the Torres sale. Hence the offer of £35m to lure Carroll immediately out of Tyneside.

Those transactions cannot be used as a basis or guideline for any future market dealings. If you're using this as a benchmark, then rvp should've cost united £60m-£70m.

Yes we all know you hate Rooney. Play a different tune.

I'm going to fall in love with Rooney a couple of years when he weighs 120kg and struggles to get through 10 minutes in return for his £1m a month Man United wage.

What about the people in charge at the bernabeu? Surely they'll accept Hernandez + £20m to bring ronaldo home?

Surely it would be Ronaldo and £20m in return for the little poo.

I do enjoy reading your posts but not every thread on here needs to turn into a slanging match.

You don't rate him, that's fine but us United supporters do.

Slanging match? I haven't had a go at any poster.

If you like the pig in a wig then good luck to you. I'll carry on posting my opinions on a football opinion board.

This is the transfer thread. Not your personally opinion on player x thread.

Yes, and my personal opinion of Rooney is that he's not worth £50m.

OK with you?

Yes that's perfect.

I think he is worth 40m.

there is also the case that madrid and psg could just swap managers too. and that filters down to other clubs of course.
Their first choice will be Klopp. He's been uncharacteristically complimentary of Madrid lately but not so much of Mourinho, could be positioning himself for the job. Has taken Dortmund as far as he can.

An unnamed Bundesliga cub has bid for Marco Rojas (as a free agent) apparently.

i'm gonna guess gladbach.

i don't think klopp would move, but if it was it would be madrid. im not sure how well he could work in the madrid sort of system though, he isn't under anywhere near the pressure at dortmund that he would receive at madrid.

you don't really hear of managers turning madrid down however...
