Never understood why Chelsea seemed so keen to rid themselves of Essien.
Was it to do with the PL rules regarding the squads or merely Di Matteo didn't rate him?
Hasn't starred for Real by any means, but always thought he was useful player and preferred him to Mikel.

He's physically shot(knees) and TSO wanted him to have him(a player) in his corner.

I rate Neymar but he is not a world beater and shouldn't be talked about as one of the best in the world. He is still playing in the Brazilian league, who knows how good he will be on the La Liga or EPL, he could shine or flop.

Pure attacking mid, the very definition of a CAM.

He's going to be a star.

Great footballer but plays a different position to Eriksen. Could end up a better player than his compatriot but not just yet, he's still got a bit of developing to do though so I think he'll probably stay put for a few more years, there's not many better environments to learn the game in than at Ajax.

Cant see why Eriksen wouldnt want to come to LFC. Wages alone would turn your head. Yeah a lot of players want to play CL football but in the real world, money talks. I have no idea what he is on at Ajax but im sure we could probably double it if need be.

If he wanted money, he could've gone to England ages ago already. Smart and/or confident kids go to Ajax because they know their development will be optimal there.

Agree with that, this was in response to City's interest last summer:

‘He’s not interested in money,’ Schoot (Eriksen's agent) told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
‘He chose to stay for his development and because of that he’s at Ajax.
‘He’s got an excellent relationship with Frank de Boer (Ajax manager) and he’s enjoying himself in Amsterdam.
‘Christian didn’t think about it (the proposal from Man City) for longer than 10 seconds.’

With players of Eriksen's ability the money will inevitably come to him wherever he goes, that's not something he'll have to worry about. He's said on several occasions that at this point of his career the most important thing to him is to continue developing himself as a footballer and to maximize his potential by moving to a club where he can play consistently good football, and he feels he can achieve that in either the Premier League or La Liga. It sounds like he's keeping his options open at present so I'm sure this will drag out over the summer.

Seems like a wind up? Didnt he go to Birmingham this season? Unless he has pulled his massive head right in, and stopped being a complete bellend, then he would be lucky to even get a gig back in the Prem. And if he has, then I doubt City would be interested....stranger things have happened I guess??
