Completely different players imo. Thiago's much more direct, though I think over the next few years we will see Barca become more direct especially once Xavi retires.

they are different, but he's been groomed as the guy to replace xavi for ages. has come through the barca system and everything obviously, don't think a guy as talented as himself should leave when he's on the cusp of breaking into the best team in the world. he'll play more next season imo.

Yeah I highly doubt he will leave, on the other hand his brother Rafinha may leave.

There has been a few pre contracts agreed in the bundesliga. One is Felipe Santana to Schalke, another is Max Kruse to Borussia Gladbach from freiburg and the last one is Sebastian Rode of Frankfurth announcing he will join Bayern either this transfer period or leave on a free at the end of next season.

All look like they will be good deals, though I have my doubts on Rode leaving for Bayern would much rather he either stayed at Frankfurth or went out on loan from Bayern as all he will do is sit on the bench next season but in a couple of years time I can see him replacing Bastian. Also I expect a schalke centre back to leave with Santana arriving.

not to mention jan kirchoff signing for bayern for the next season in the jan (haha) window. big tall german centre back, can only presume van buyten is leaving.

as for a schalke cb leaving, i'd put money on it being papadopoulos

and before anyone asks, max kruse is not related to robbie kruse

Last I read about Van Buyten was that he had promising talks with them. He's a good guy to have around as backup. He's a great personality and Ribery's buddy.

Being played out of position all the time doesn't help.

I don't know how good he can be but he's definitely looking to play in a more holding position. As an attacking midfielder he can no longer get into the Belgian XI.

He's said in a few interviews that's his best position and where he wants to play. Would be a perfect fit for Chelsea IMO.

I blame the internet, everytime I see the name I think people are referring to Goastse at first

I'd rather Bayern signed that.

Gutted if they get Gotze.

If Bayern get Gotze we will just about have the best young midfield in the world. Muller, Gotze and Kroos... Mmmmm.
