Why would he go from Dortmund to United/Real anyway.

As crazy as it sounds, it's a downgrade right now.

What?

Ludicrous call. United and Real are upgrades regardless of a football game result.

Dortmund are better than both teams right now, so it's a downgrade.

No they are not.

You're basing this on one result of football?

How does United even get mentioned?

I guess because they are one of the sides rumoured to be after Lewandowski.

After losing Gotze, they would want to hang onto Lewandowski and Hummels.

It's not based on one result. Dortmund are a better side.

So they won the league this year?

Dortmund are not a better side then United.

More so now that they have sold there best talent and will lose there best striker.

What top club puts themselves in a position to sell there best player to a rival?

I dont really know.

Real yes, United no. Long time before United will win Europe, Real are always there or thereabouts.

Lol that is funny.

United won it in 2008, made the final in 2009 and 2011. With the exception of last season effort, we are always there abouts in the CL. United is an upgrade from Dortmund, as is Madrid.

Right so Dortmund has won the CL then?

News to me.

Even winning it wouldn't mean they were better then us.

It's not like RM were convincing winners against us.

Right now in terms of playing both Real and Dortmund are marginally ahead of United but in terms of the future/being at a big club, United and Madrid are well ahead

So when did United lose to Dortmund?

How did leaving for a bigger club and more money end up for Sahin?

You don't leave when there's something special going on, as is the case with Dortmund.

i don't disagree, but losing gotze is a worrying sign.

We haven't lost to them but it is clear that they would beat us right now. However with a strong transfer window, not to mention the players they will be losing, we could bridge that gap pretty soon

How is it clear?

They can't be compared to us.

Your going by CL results, check there league results.

I'll just make the reverse comparison and say as we are so far in front in the league and they are off the pace in the league then we are better.

True, but they've also lost Kagawa and Sahin in the last two summer transfer markets and replaced them to the point you haven't really noticed

you can't replace them forever though.

how do you replace lew? reus has a 24 mil euro release clause that activates next season. how do you replace him if he leaves? they just don't have the resources of other clubs. i hope they can continue, they're a joy to watch, but they can't sell their best players season after season and expect to go anywhere.

Might as well put Wenger in charge.

This season yes, but it would be a bit short-sighted to make a decision with that attitude. It's a much safer option to go to a traditional superpower like United or Real who will always be at or near the top of the pile in European football. We've seen how dynamic the Bundesliga ladder has been over the last 10 years so there's absolutely no guarantee Dortmund will remain at the top of the league as they are now, particularly if they lose any more of their key players.

Someone's going to have to slowly explain to me how Dortmund are better then United this year at this point.

There not even guaranteed a final berth whereas we have won the league.

People forget that we were robbed against Real and were in fact the better team over the two legs.
