If all these rumors are true what would Chelsea's starting XI be next season?! Very large squad.

Why on earth would Chelsea sign Alonso?
Why wouldn't they?

Quality player, would improve any club in England (and all bar one or two in Europe).

People around here and other forums were saying the same about Torres.

Ha ha, they were indeed.

To be fair, I think you have to be burned a few times before you get a bit more realistic picture about footballers and loyalty. Expect the worst, and if it goes your way it's just an added bonus.

i dont see why alonso would leave madrid. unless it was to go back to sociedad. he might give liverpool a couple of years, but i don't really see him going anywhere else.

one guy i wouldn't mind having at city, and i mentioned it back in jan, would be carvalho. just for that experience down back, to replace kolo. he probably wouldn't go for it and i reckon he would go back to portugal for the last couple of years of his career, but would provide vital experience and stuff like that. kinda like when we signed vieira.

Cech
Azi Luiz Cahill Cole
Ramires ??????
Oscar Mata Hazard
Falcao
Bench - New keeper, Ivanovic, Terry, Bertrand, Mikel(or Romeu), Ba and Moses(or Schurrle).

IMO ???? will be Fellaini, Shaw will be bought and loaned straight back to Souths and Schurrle will also be purchased. KDB, Lukaku, Piazon, Chalobah and Courtois will go out on loan again

Lamps sadly gone, probably to LA. Essien will return to the squad.

Well if Lampard does go, I hope he at least gets the goals record

Seriously they might as well just offer him a new contract with less wages, Chelsea legend, unless he WANTS to go they shouldn't let him go. Plus him, cole, cahill and Terry and basically the only english players left there :p

90 per cent of footballers don't actually give a shit about their previous clubs or about rivalries, they're professionals and they play for a paycheck. I'd be very surprised if Alonso is any different.

At Liverpool I'd say only Stevie G and maybe Carragher are blokes who genuinely care for the club, and thats only because they're locals who've played their careers in just one place.
Xabi is in the 10%

Some guys you can just tell. Dirk Kuyt would never play for Chelsea or United or Everton. Xabi is another I wouldnt think would play for those teams. Agger is another one. There isnt many of them though. Agger has YNWA tattooed across his knuckles. ****ing legend.

If Alonso comes back to England, it will be to play for us, having said that, I think it's all just a ploy to work for a better deal in extending his contract at Real Madrid.

ADL9798 saw a few rumours mate that we are looking at your boy Spearing (who I believe is on loan at Bolton and earning rave reviews). Not sure how much truth there is but if he is at loan at Bolton, then presumably Rodgers doesn't see him as part of his plans? (He would still be pretty young though so maybe could be getting first team experience?)

What do you think of him? One of my liverpool mates rated him as one of the worst players he's ever seen last season (or might have been the year before) - we probably could use more depth in DM but don't really know a great deal about Spearing.
Spearing is an honest battler to be fair. He just really doesnt have the quality to play at a big club like Liverpool. Im not saying Newcastle arent a big club but results wise you guys have been a bit up and down in recent years. He would provide pretty decent cover at DM. He works hard, runs his socks off, he's tidy with the ball but wont split defenses open with 40 yard balls and he wont score you any goals.

He's ok but just not good enough for Liverpool. He was Bolton's player of the season though I believe.

To be honest, for a player like Alonso who has won everything there is to win in the game, has nothing to prove as a player, and has never showed any indication that he's a mercenary type, I don't think Chelsea would be that much of a draw irrespective of whether they're offering him an extra 20-25k a week more. Personally I can't see him leaving Madrid anyway, he's still got 2-3 years at the top to offer them and I wouldn't be surprised if he saw out his playing days there.
I agree that I cant see why he would leave Real Madrid. There are two reason why he might consider leaving, one is a nagging feeling that he has unfinished business at Liverpool FC and two, if Rafa takes over at Real.

And what would this unfinished business be? No chance of Liverpool winning the league in the next few years

very presumptuous that they're getting bale

don't think stoke can afford pepe. bit adventurous there for a 30 year old who got completely shown up vs lewandowski.

di maria would be a top pick up, kaka isn't worth what he thinks he's worth.

dreaming with 30 mil for higuain too.

and coentrao is rubbish.

Marca are a very unreliable source. They have been known to make things up before. Interesting rumours though.
