After the French have bought all the good players. And when does fifa fair play come into action?
Think that's generally right but as they say, more risk sometimes means more reward. It's definitely harder to find good foreign players who can adapt to the EPL but when you find one, they normally are better value than their English counterparts. Definitely a lot of quality players out there but also a lot who wouldn't be suited to the EPL's style.

Apparently they plan to sign 4-5 world class players this window.monaco also lining up a 40 mil bid for moutinho
MoneyWhy would world class players go there? Not a very good league and would be a step down from the teams they are at.
In all fairness, Monaco is a beautiful part of the world.

Surely the biggest reason why prices for English players have inflated so much in the last few years has to be on the back of the homegrown rule. Each 25 man squad must have a minimum of 8 home grown or English players and for sides near the top of the league competing in multiple competitions, you can't afford to be filling those spots with players who aren't going to be capable of coming in and having an impact and playing first team football. You certainly could look at overseas players but at the end of the day, you have to fill 8 spots in your squad with English/'home-grown' players so you might as well make sure you're getting the best available. Selling clubs know this and know that as a result they can jack up the prices of their players because clubs who are struggling to meet the quota have no choice but to buy them (from a very limited pool of talent compared to other leagues), even if there's a better foreign player available for a similar price.
