Cavani to City, Dzeko to Napoli in a swap deal according to the Telegraph. City will obviously pay an extra fee for the transfer.

He's not worth 15 mill given you paid 12 for Sturridge, who's significantly better.
Shevchenko had proved his quality and as worth around what we signed him for. Carroll hadn't and to lose 20m on a player who is supposed to be hitting his peak about now is a terrible. Even though you did well in the deal from West Ham overall it was a transfer disaster, there is no sugar coating it.shevchenko

I forgot about Veron, that was a shocker. We've made a couple! I still think Robbie Keane was the worst from our perspective, brought in for £17m in July 2008 against Rafa's wishes and sold 6 months later for £12m. At least with Carroll his performances won us a League Cup and an FA Cup final appearance, Keane did nothing.
Juan Sebastian Veron still the worst for me, pretty comparable to Carroll in terms of figures too. United paid £28m for him in 2001 which was just silly money back then, did nothing for 2 years then Chelsea bought him for £15m and proceeded to loan him out for 3 of his 4 years at the club before letting him go back to Argentina on a free.

The Guardian and The Times are reporting that we've made a £12m offer for Papadopoulos and they believe Schalke will accept it. Good to see the club getting business done early.
i think 50m for him has turned out to be a disaster, like carrol was for us.Torres has scored some important goals for Chelsea, sure the fee was excessive but I don't think he's been a total flop.

By no means was the fee good, but he has come up with some big goals in the last two seasons.i think 50m for him has turned out to be a disaster, like carrol was for us.
Wasnt Schevchenko around 50m as well?

Both had proven they were world class and their price tag could be justified. Even though Torres has been, for the most part, a flop on the field don't underestimate the impact he has had on the club. I have met quite a dormant and new Chelsea fans who have admitted their interest in the club sparked up because of the transfer of Fernando. He was a lot of people's favourite and people tuned in to watch him. He was and still is a significant marketing tool and I'm sure the club has generated a large amount of revenue from it.one of the worst transfer deals for LFC, but i can think of 2 that were worst for CFC in recent times, Shevchenko and Torres both were shocking for your club
