Gervinho was very good at Lille, lead all the stats and whatnot I think, but we clearly went for the wrong player.

I meant more along the lines of that will leave Arsenal with only 2 recognised forwards in Giroud and Podolski.

Since Podolski plays wide and Walcott cant be trusted to play through the centre, if Giroud is suspended/ Injured for a period, we really have no other options besides our new French youngster.

Bendtner, Chamakh and Park have all been failures. Gervinho has failed but to a lesser exten, I cant see Wenger letting him go and replacing 4 forwards in one off-season.

Yeah I see what you mean, but it would only become an issue if Giroud AND Podolski are out. We have seen this year that Podolski can play centre (and I think he SHOULD play centre). Wenger has shown he is willing to play a bunch of different players wide (correctly or not).

All of this is a moot point if we sign Jovetic or any other striker that is decent enough to start anyway.

Surely Fabregas replaces Xavi? Thiago wont be a starting player for a couple of years in Barca but at Man Utd he would instantly be their #1 CM.
