Who would Spurs buy with the money? I would be so much happier if Willian and Hulk were avalible and Spurs had 75m.

Tottenham are at exactly the same place Arsenal were 10 years ago. Do you sell off your most valuable player and back the manager to use that money to reinforce the squad?

Arsenal sold Anelka for 23 million to Real Madrid in 1999 and Overmars to Barcelona in 2000 for 25 million. Those funds were then used to bring in Wiltord, Edu, Henry, Lauren, Pires, Sylvinho etc.

Tottenham are always going to be financially limited with what they have to work with. The sale of Bale could set them up.

Who could Tottenham buy? Cant really say what their financial situation is, how much will they have to spend if they don't sell Bale?

Exactly. There already seems to be a shortage of established class players for ManC, Chelsea, PSG etc to fight over before Tottenham get in the frame. Dortmund's going to have a tonne of money to spend too who will probably be looking at similar targets to Spurs.

They really must not lose Bale unless it's for multiple class players. Maybe Real can do the play plus more cash deal as was discussed about for Suarez. Say Di Maria + Benzema + STG25m...

The problem is Tottenham's limitations. They cant offer the wages that would attract top line players.

Luka Modric was offered 90,000 a week and would have been Tottenham's highest paid player ever.

Now if you offer Bale 150k or 170k, how do you justify to the other players that they cant get the same amount?

How about when English clubs go for other top talents?

Yes EPL clubs to take good players from other leagues and other PL teams, but Madrid are worse, they already have a team full of stars and as soon as things go a bit sour, they look for the next best thing, in this case, Bale.

Can't wait to see the Liverpool fans rage. It's going to be amazing.

Wrong player Cruyffy! We're going for a CB called Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Schalke.

I'll save my rage for when BVB sign Eriksen for peanuts. Danish paper Sporten are reporting they've just made an offer of 12m, if they get him for anything near that it would be an absolute bargain.

Oh whoops. :p:oops: LOL

Very random I know, but posting that tweet three times reminded me of this:

Waylon Smithers: [on microphone] Get ready for exciting quarter-mile action at the
Springfield Dragway. It'll be motorized mayhem mayhem mayhem.
[softly] Do we need all those "mayhems"? We do. All right,
fair enough.

Isnt the whole point to try and improve your squad with the best players you can get.

Or would it be better for Madrid if they only went after shit players.

no idea why the hell it has posted it several times, i only pasted the link in once

Santana has joined Schalke.

they were in talks well before the season ended anyway, so it isn't really a shock

don't worry, lots of people thought the same thing

1 year left on his contract only. And I read Ajax have told him they won't play him if he stays. Would seem like an easy target if you really want him, unless Eriksen has a clear preference for Dortmund.

I think that's the case, and I can't blame him! Our only hope of signing him is if Dortmund for whatever reason drop their interest in favour of another player but they seem to have committed to him.

There's no way Ajax wouldn't play him if he stayed, he's their best player and has gone on record to say if he can't arrange a satisfactory move this summer, then he would sign a new contract with the club so they don't lose him for nothing next year. He's not looking to screw the club over so they have no reason to screw him over.

The fact that he has 1 year on his contract would definitely diminish his value but I thought there would have been more clubs interested in him given his ability - particularly if he's going to be available for as little as is being suggested. To date only Liverpool and Dortmund have approached Ajax formally which I find bizarre.

While bosman has some merits its a shame it can be used as a means of buying players like erikssen on the cheap.

The clubs only have themselves to blame. They acted like utter sillys pre-bosman and got their just deserts.

What's the bet United sign no one of note once again in the transfer window. I hate how Madrid City Chelsea are all active and we don't buy anyone!!

Have City or Chelsea bought anyone yet?

My heart bleeds for United fans.

Must suck not being able to outspend everyone in the league year in year out anymore.

Ferguson gone, credit card maxed out.

For the first time in 20 years, the smell of Manchester United fan's fear is in the air.
