It shows one of the problems with FFP.

Top English clubs would have no problems being more profitable if they had a less fair system of TV revenue distribution like Spain.

But according to UEFA thats a bad thing as it reduces profitability for individual clubs.

Sorry, not sure I follow?

You want the collective agreement to be scrapped in favour of individual negotiation?

No, but clubs best chance of meeting FFP and being able to spend more of being a better team is to scrap collective bargaining and leaving the less well off clubs in the shit.

FFP actually encourages clubs to do things that are good for them but not in the interests of football as a whole.

Clubs that are sharing their revenues for the good of the game are restricted in trying to compete with clubs that aren't sharing their revenues for the good of the game.

United close to signing or have signed 20 year old fullback Guillermo Varela. a right back from what ive seen on YT so competition for Rafa

Too quick for me.

Just saw that on the fishal site. Can't say I know a lot about him but I know people were raving about his game against Chelsea last season.

And he seems to have qualities in abundance that we really need in midfield - speed, energy, tackling.

Getting the signings out the way early. Isco and Cavani next hopefully. :thumbsu:

Is £34m what Fernandinho ended up costing?

Going to be a huge window(in terms of spend) for City(if they sign Cavani and Isco too).

I don't believe they would pay that much.

A quick update on a couple of the Dutch boys:

Maarten Stekelenberg (until recently, long time Dutch and Roma No 1 keeper) has been bought by Fulham from Roma for 3 million (not sure what this means for Shwarzer)

Ricky van Wolfswinkel (lightly built 24 y.o striker) has been bought by Norwich from Sporting for 10 million.

Man U look likely to pick up Kevin Strootman (strong box to box midfielder)

Chelsea look likely to pick up Marco van Ginkel (young midfielder who waqs young player of the year in the Eredivise)

He'll be 41 next season. Can only keep playing for so long, would be remiss if Fulman didn't look for a replacement

Absolutely. Just wonder what will happen at the start of the season because Stekelenberg moved because he was recently dropped to no 2 at Roma and wanted to be guaranteed first team football. Will Stek go straight in? Will Schwarzer then retire? Seek a move? Will they battle it out for the No 1?

Has already said he is leaving Fulham but wants to stay in Europe somewhere

Hull City apparently interested in Denilson, who is now a Free Agent.
Interesting pick up. Depending on wages, it couldnt really hurt too much.

We have turned down a second bid for schmeichel from Hull.

Heard that. Bruce back from holiday now though so I suspect things will start to ramp up from our end. If Bruce is really keen on him, I think it's now looking likely it'll happen.

Honestly reckon he'd be a perfect fit with us. Wants to stay in England, in the Premier League, only has a year or so left at his best. We're probably the only Premier League club that fits the bill. Could play most of the year with Schmeicel/McGregor as his understudy with the aim to them taking over the following season full-time.
