Barca youth players Sergi Canos (Liverpool), Julio Pleguezuelo (Arsenal) and Josima Quintero (Chelsea), all three 16, move to England. [sport]

All very highly rated too. Apparently the problem lies in the limits placed on Spanish clubs in terms of how much they are allowed to pay their youth (u18) players, the rules were designed to prevent Barcelona and Madrid from poaching every single talented player that comes through the other academies in the league, but doesn't stop foreign sides from doing the same.

With the money top clubs in England have been investing in their academy facilities and coaching staff in recent years I'd imagine its becoming quite an attractive proposition for 15/16 year old Spanish players to come over to England where they can earn 5 times as much and still receive an excellent footballing education (with greater prospects of first team football than they might expect to receive at Barça or Madrid).

There are also reports that despite interest from City we're about to sign 15 year old Valencia midfielder Pedro Chirivella who also has huge wraps on him, he's the youngest and most highly rated member of Spain's current U17 squad and has been compared to Fabregas.

United have confirmed the signing of Uraguay U20 defender Guillermo Varela for an undisclosed fee.

Also Yohan Cabaye has said he would like to join Man United, would prefer someone better but if any Newcastle fans can give us an insight to how he plays and if he would improve our midfield that much would be appreciated.

Arsenal have also come out and said that they can afford Wayne Rooney, so i'm expecting a bid but also expecting United to reject any offers, i want us to send him abroad if we do sell him.

Was wondering why noone posted this yet, thought I was imagining things.

Transfers don't exist until they're in this thread. :p

It's 15m € the bid Chelsea is preparing for Boateng. And Milan is VERY keen to sell. Hardly these deals don't go through

Much cheaper to just ship all the black players out of Italy, than to face FIFA sanctions for the racism they refuse to do anything about.

David Bentley (£15m) and Roque Santa Cruz (£17.5m) released by Spurs and City today (makes me feel very grateful that we're going to be able to recoup so much of Carroll's fee!). Those 2 were brilliant in that 2007/08 season at Blackburn, it's a shame that for whatever reason their careers haven't worked out because both had/have ability.

Bentley was supposed to be the new Beckham after that season lol
I had RSC in my fantasy team that season and he did well along with Benjani

I always thought it was a classic case of good players in an average team, which were found out at a higher level.

Mario Gomez has agreed wages with both Napoli and Fiorentina in case one of them will pay 16-18m requested by Bayern, according to Sky Italy

Napoli have so far rejected Chelsea 50m € bid, standing firmly on the 63m € request

milan arent selling el shaarawy. simple as that

would back currently that cavani is staying at napoli. no one seems to want to stump up the fee.

50m is a pretty fair offer as well.

Christ,

How much money are Chelsea/City going to spend between them? Is it a race to see who can spend 2 billion the fastest?

Still see him ending up at the Bridge(clubs in serious negotiating ATM), just trying to get him under the buyout(which I don't see happening).

de laurentiis isn't going to sway from the buyout clause. there will be no as cheap as possible. it's either be the full fee or a player + the fee based on his evaluation. it's how he is. cavani hasn't said he wants to leave, the buyout is there, napoli don't need the money, he doesn't move until adl is completely satisfied.

Going to be tough to get a good price for him with only a year left on his contract.

Yeah, although I see him in an ideal world as worth the £25m RVP cost. Take off £10m for his attitude and desire to eventually go back to Argentina and I would still think of £15m as a reasonable fee.

Hopefully someone like PSG or Monaco might get involved in an auction.

15m would be absolutely fair. Anything less is an amazing steal.

No, it's a race to win silverware by having the best squad of players each club could possibly have within their means.

It's an interesting concept that doesn't seem to matter that much to the legion of football supporters who grew up with posters of accountants on their walls.
