We should pay that much for him. If he wants to come home which I think he does we will work something out with Madrid

I don't think they will take less then 80 million.

Real Madrid would want some serious cash for Ronaldo, more than we have. However, shirt sales alone would pretty much make up for what we spend to get him back.

Yep, you said it. Wtf has happened the last page or so!? NYE sessions perhaps have started early for some....

Man United are paid a fixed amount by Nike and AON each season for the kit sponsorship (approx £50m for both). Any money made from kit sales then goes to the manufacturer (Nike). The only way United could make more money in the unlikely scenario that a) Ronaldo comes back and b) there's a huge surge in kit sales would be if the club negotiated a new deal with those 2 sponsors.

Even if he did come back I think you'd find the majority of the sales of Ronaldo kits would be made up of United fans who changed from buying Van Persie or Rooney kits.

The only merchandise the club makes a direct profit off is the non-Nike branded gear sold on the club website/club shops.

7 mill for Ba. What a joke. The guy is worth at least twice that. Awesome stuff Chelsea. :thumbsu:

It'll be 7m, plus whatever signing on fee he and his agent want, plus high wages on a long term contract , for a player who failed a medical at Stoke less than 2 years ago due to knee problems.

Decent signing if he stays fit and continues to score the way he has been this season for sure. However this definitely has potential to be an expensive mistake if his knees go or his form drops like it did last season when Cisse arrived and he wasn't the main man up front anymore.

It isn't as good as it sounds. He would've moved last January or in the summer if it was.

Have heard Ba will set back Chelsea £30m in total. Transfer fee, agent fee, sign on fee, wages etc.

Yep. There's always more to it. Joe Cole came to Liverpool on a free and quickly proved he was worth 10 times that. I shudder to think how much he has actually cost us now.

Interesting that Chelsea couldn't come to an agreement on Ba, not sure where else he would go for what he is asking

So anyway. Isco has always been a big Darius Vassell fan apparently.

May not be 100% real

yeah reading have signed carrico from sporting cp for something like 600k. ridiculous bargain. having seen some of carrico a couple of years back he was hyped as a major talent. captain of sporting, reading have done themselves some very good business and done exactly what they need. top effort on whoever negotiated that deal.

Good to see that Mancini has admitted they tried to sign RvP.

Can't believe Wenger would sell him to a rival, it may now cost Arsenal 4th spot + if RVP wasn't at United they would be in 4-5th place now. Would have been better off keeping RVP for the last year of his contract.

mancini tried to get rvp. everyone knew that and he admitted it ages ago. whether it went past that is the up in the air part. the most common story i've seen is that we made an enquiry, and decided not to take it any further than that.

We would still be top 2,

Going by what he said City tried but RvP chose UTD.

If he was interested you would have signed him.
