Yes you would think one is gone.

Ordinarily, but Mancini has never had a problem with training ground or dressing room bustups. He's said before it's a positive thing to have at a club. A lot of other managers and I would say theres no coming back from a proper bustup.

On the other hand he may well never want to see his face again.

My bet, Mancini will say there was nothing to it and Mario will be in the starting lineup against Watford. I guess more will probably come out in the next day or so though.

Soooo supposedly Sturridge is a huge waste of money and the only reason people have been able to come up with so far is that he's a bit selfish. Sounds like clutching at straws to me, he'll improve our squad and score goals of that there's no doubt and that's all we're after really. Suarez would have to be the most selfish player in the league but no-one seems to mind because he takes responsibility for the team and gets the job done by putting the ball in the back of the net. Oh what I wouldn't give to have more players who were so single-minded and 'selfish'.

I think there's a big disparity between what people think constitutes a lot of money for a player and what actually is a lot of money in today's inflated transfer market. It's 2013, not 2003, and £12m is not a huge amount of money for a talented young striker like Sturridge these days. The likes of Carroll & Torres were overpriced and a waste of money, but £12m for a 23 year old goalscorer (when played) like Sturridge represents reasonable value in my opinion and at the end of the day, who cares about an extra million or 2, it's pedantic. At worst we're not talking £5-10 million over market value here so the opportunity cost is not that great.
This is an excellent post. Just saying.

Probably the reason it hasn't been activated yet. Though his defiantly worth that much, best striker in the world under 27 imo only Robin and Ibra are better of those over 27. I dont include messi as a striker.
Why wouldnt you include Messi? He scores more goals than RVP, Ibra etc. He scores more goals than anyone on the planet. He is a striker surely. How old is Falcao?

Oh and I wouldnt take Cavani in front of Suarez who is under 27.

One of the few threads here that didn't have a Suarez angle in it. Cue Liverpool supporter weighing in and it will now turn into were Suarez now rates amongst strikers

Seriously what would Balotelli be worth? Yes he is talented but his attitude would probably reduce his price. Would City get what they paid for him?

What, exactly, has he done to earn this reputation for being a mercurial talent? Have never seen him do anything Dzeko can't do better and he's not fit to clean Aguero's boots.

He's not even "mercurial". He's actually rather predictable - both in his playing style and his attitude.

Adebayor worked ten times harder than Balotelli last season. If that doesn't tell people all they need to know about Balotelli then nothing will.

Except, perhaps, making the effort to scythe down a team-mate in training rather than following Dzeko's example and doing whatever it takes to get off the bench...

If we're going to call players for scything down teammates at training there's going to be a fairly decent list. And at the moment if you sweep away all the bullshit a bad tackle is all he did yesterday.

As for his ability, top 10 in premier league history as far as goals per minute goes. I look at games like the cup semi (MOM), cup final (MOM), 1-6 derby where he has shone. 19 goals in 26 starts (plus 14 sub appearances) before the start of this season is an exceptional record for a 21 year old. Also look at his Euro's which were very good.

But this season has been a disappointment, and he is mad as a box of frogs. Put James Milners mentality into him and he would be a £100m player. But his attitude and mentality effect his value to the club and the pitch and his financial value to the club off the pitch.

Thought I was on ignore? ;)

Look, you can't really believe that the incident was simply about "a bad tackle". Otherwise Mancini would already be sacked - and would never have had the career he's had (if prone to reactions over "just a bad tackle".

As for his stats - he's playing in a team that was setting records for goals for most of last season. Now that Silva's service has dropped off, the goals have dried up. Wonder why? Dzeko and Aguero have found a way to work into games and find a way to score...

Why on earth was he MOM in the Cup final? This, and the 1-6 "Why always me?" myth is why City supporters cut this guy so much slack - because he scored against Man U... But it wasn't an individual piece of brilliance - like Rooney's overhead kick (flukey prick) - it was the result of brilliant team play he was on the end of.

However, he was good at the Euro's - at least, he was better than I've seen him play for City. And you're right - I'm being very harsh on a 21 year old. But I'm reacting to the price tag people are putting on him: I'd pay that for Lukaku on evidence shown, not Balotelli.

Although he does take an excellent penalty. For that reason alone we'll have him at Spurs...

You are on ignore. I wasn't logged in when I read your post, didn't even realise it was you until I logged in and couldn't find the post.

He's not played well this year. Needs to improve. FWIW Dzeko just ended a stretch of 1 goal in 13 matches, Aguero just ended a stretch of 1 goal in 8, Tevez has scored 1 in his last 9. And we've created more chances than any team in the premier league.

He was MOM in the cup final because he played better than everyone else on the pitch. Pretty simple reason I would have thought. He was as good in the cup semi. The derby game wasn't just his goals, it was his all-round play on the day. And there's other games as you would expect when someone scores a goal every 100 minutes he plays.

Not really bothered if people don't think he's worth the pricetag, or the hassle. Got nominated for the Ballon d'Or this season which tells me there is plenty of people in football that rightly or wrongly believe he is capable.

Is it true you cant loan 2 players from the same club so Joe Cole off to WHU has to be a permanent deal?

It is permanent. Got a £3m payoff from Liverpool for the last 18 months of his contract. £4m from West Ham to make the difference.

THought it was another "Hawkforce" with a history of questioning Balotelli's talent? Oh well... how lucky for you that you weren't logged in - otherwise you'd never have seen my original post and engaged in this wonderful exchange of ideas! :)

You're probably right - it's just I watched those games and never thought "Gee that Balotelli's a star". Unlike watching Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Toure, and Dzeko (at times).

Not really bothered if people don't think he's worth the pricetag, or the hassle. .

Then why on earth have you bothered replying to any of my posts? Especiually when you're not supposed to be able to see them in the first place?

You're very touchy, Moomba. Surely you can understand why neutrals might question Balotelli's worth in a team filled with genuine hard-working World Class stars?

What I can't understand is why more City fans don't feel the same... What exactly has he done to earn this loyalty - in a fight against the manager who won you the title? A manager who has given Balotelli more chances than a Gallas led defence?

Sometimes Referee decisions change entire careers. If Balotelli had been sent off for stamping on Parker and Tottenham won at City last year (as they almost certainly would have against 10 men) City probably wouldn't have won the title, and Balotelli would have been blamed.

But he wasn't sent off, he was celebrated - and still is. Bizarre...

You've convinced me. Mancini must go. Balotelli must stay. Sinclair must wear a gimp mask if that's what it takes...
