THought it was another "Hawkforce" with a history of questioning Balotelli's talent? Oh well... how lucky for you that you weren't logged in - otherwise you'd never have seen my original post and engaged in this wonderful exchange of ideas! :)

No, I didnt notice who made the post, was responding to the post and not the poster.

Maybe Dzeko and Aguero should follow Balotelli's example? And Teve... Oh...

Perhaps Mario can play golf for a few months, come back and win a premier league title.

You're probably right - it's just I watched those games and never thought "Gee that Balotelli's a star". Unlike watching Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Toure, and Dzeko (at times).

We all see the game in different ways.

Then why on earth have you bothered replying to any of my posts? Especiually when you're not supposed to be able to see them in the first place?

Because you posted something that I thought warranted a response.

You're very touchy, Moomba. Surely you can understand why neutrals might question Balotelli's worth in a team filled with genuine hard-working World Class stars?

What I can't understand is why more City fans don't feel the same... What exactly has he done to earn this loyalty - in a fight against the manager who won you the title? A manager who has given Balotelli more chances than a Gallas led defence?

Touchy? No, just don't see the point in arguing over which valuation is more accurate. You've got yours, I've got mine and there is nothing that could prove either of us right or wrong.

And you'll find that the worth of Balotelli is one of the most debated topics amongst blues.

Sometimes Referee decisions change entire careers. If Balotelli had been sent off for stamping on Parker and Tottenham won at City last year (as they almost certainly would have against 10 men) City probably wouldn't have won the title, and Balotelli would have been blamed.

But he wasn't sent off, he was celebrated - and still is. Bizarre...

If my aunty had bollocks ...

You've convinced me. Mancini must go. Balotelli must stay. Sinclair must wear a gimp mask if that's what it takes...

How have I convinced you that Mancini must go when I don't believe that myself?

And I've never said Balotelli must stay. If RM wants rid thats what we should do.

Find it hard to lighten up at times, don't you? Usually when the subject is City...

Ha ha - touche!

Although Tevez's talent and work ethic was, and never has been, in question...

We all see the game in different ways.

Naturally. But, seriously, do you hold Balotelli in the same class as the players I mentioned?

Touchy? No, just don't see the point in arguing over which valuation is more accurate.

But I wasn't making a valuation - except in as much as I was bewildered that people were questioning Mancini's worth vis a vis Balotelli's in the aftermath...

I simply stated that I've never seen Balotelli's supposed "Talent" especially compared to some of his team-mates. If you don't care about such things dont' respond.

However, if you do care, because you know the player better, then don't just list a couple of games where he scored a goal before dismissing the whole subject as not worth "bothering about". Try explaining why Balotelli's special; why he can get away with acting like a dick... What have you observed from pitchside that tells a different story to the one neutrals see on TV...

If my aunty had bollocks ...

she'd play for City, stamp on someone's head, get away with it, then score the winning penalty and she'd be a hero and never feel the need to change her head-stamping ways...???

Balotelli sent off in that game and you almost certainly don't win the title. You know it... How would you have felt about Balotelli then?

How have I convinced you that Mancini must go when I don't believe that myself?

Sorry, I got misled when you remarked that players get scythed down by team-mates at training fairly regularly. As if Balotelli was no worse than Joey Bar... Err... El Hadj Dio... Err...

Neither of them made the manager so angry he attacked them... The mind boggles[/quote]

Don't know why you get so upset when Balotelli's worth is questioned Moomba. Nobody's doubting his talent, just his mentality which many believe will never be good enough to be a top level player. Being a top quality footballer is 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration - Mario has the 10% inspiration covered but unfortunately falls well short in the perspiration department. And I don't think that will ever change with him although I would be happy to be proven wrong.

Who is getting upset?

I was asked why I think he was valued highly I answered it. Is that not the point of this forum?

If someone disagrees good luck to them, I just don't see the value in arguing the point.

Well, I am...

But as you say talent is only 10% - and I've not seen enough of it to justify the lack of the other 90%...

Don't know about that, think Balo is one of the most skilful players around when he applies himself. The problem is the application of that talent. You have got to wonder why a manager like Mourinho wanted to get rid of such a young, talented footballer. That speaks volumes in my opinion.

Is he any good?

Typical overhyped Man United kid. Got ability but proven nothing yet.

I'd question why anyone would walk out on Man United for Spurs (no offence), also doesn't seem to gave set the world on fire in Belgium.

I've heard they've signed him as long term cover for Bale, who is expected to join Real in summer.

I see you have read the Daily Fail article that put that one line in as a sidepoint to an article about the signing of a 20 year old. If they had any idea what was happening, there would be more than 1 line about it. Brilliant journalism

Look who's touchy now :)

Gary Neville makes a good point, that stuff would happen at trainings all over the world, but is it normal to have photographers at training snapping all those pics? Is the City training ground open to the public (or not fenced off).

He's got potential actually. He put in decent displays when i have seen him play the last couple of times for us. Always there was a chance of leaving since we have Fabio to replace Evra and he wanted first team action. IMO his full potential would probly have him a few levels below Assou-Ekotto. Decent cover at LB i guess.

So UTD have apparently moved in front of Arsenal for Zaha which would mean Nani goes.

United also has some interest in Sneijder but will only deal for under 10 million and a lowering of wages.

Saw him play a game or two in the League or FA cup and although he's young, he didn't overly impress me.
Not sure why he would turn his back on the club who developed him for Spurs either

Can someone explain to me the hype surrounding Zaha? He's definitely got potential but here are some stats from the Championship so far this season:

Zaha: 4 goals 3 assists

Ince: 13 goals 10 assists

Both 20 years old yet one will be bought for £4-5m and the other for reasons unknown to me is being touted around the £15m mark? I think it's got a lot to do with Zaha talking himself up and the media exposure that his arrogance is creating for him, meanwhile Ince seems to quietly go about his business in an obviously far more effective manner.

Mentioned a few pages back that I hope we get Ince over Zaha purely based on him costing 10m less and so far apart from a speculative England cap has achieved just as much. The UK papers are all over Zaha and Palace will be loving it. Also great idea they have asking for whoever buys Zaha to loan them a few of their devlopment players as they are still pushing for promotion
