What if they win the league and or cl?

I don't think it would have much effect on SAF decision really. If anything he might be more inclined to leave after winning one of those. I think he has one more season in him after this, then Pepe will take over.

I think SAF hangs it up end of this season.

Don't think he'll want to leave after back to back 2nd placed finishes (although better than waiting a year and leaving on the back of three 2nd placed finishes).

But still a long way to go before Pep rides in to take over if and when Fergie leaves.

I just see SAF realising that Pep is too perfect to make to wait.

Saying that if we win a major trophy then even more likely.

Pastore for Sniedjer would be a win win for both teams.

The tricky thing with the hype around Pep Guardiola is that yes he did an incredible job at Barça, but it was and still is a special set of circumstances at that club that will be nearly impossible for any other club to recreate in the foreseeable future. I don't underestimate the huge amount of work he did restructuring Barcelona B to allow passage of the many talented youngsters they had through to the senior team, but there is certainly an argument that could be made that he was in some ways the lucky manager who came into the club at exactly the right time to capitalize on 10-20 years of development at the foundation level of the club from the youngest sides in the academy right through to the senior squad.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, he's a fantastic manager of that there is no doubt, but I wonder if he's now set the bar so high because of the extraordinary group of players and the years of building done by his predecessors that he had to work with, that he will now inevitably fall short of people's expectations wherever he ends up because of the incredible amount of success Barçelona had under him. What if he was just the right man to get the most out of that squad of players? Not every club has a Messi or a Xavi or an Iniesta for him to work with.

Nah, Pep had a lot of unique methods of his own that contributed to the way this Barca team plays. Some of his training drills were very interesting (Like some keep things off game, and if someone loses the ball then the other team must do everything they can to win it back within 5 seconds, and if they don't, then they drop off and go back defending). Which kinda created that insanely good high pressing game up the pitch that Barca's so good at. And he obviously took the tiki taka thing to a whole new level, yes Cruyff tries to take credit for it, but while he was at Barca for all those years, none of the teams played the possession game to this extent, it's largely to do with Pep.

I think he'll be amazing for anyone that gets him provided he has the time and resources to invest and build his system, but I dunno if he'll head to Chelsea knowing it's a bit of a basket case

pep built that team to the brilliance that it is now. every little thing. the man is a pure genius. just look at the knowledge tito has gained being his right hand man. he's seen that people had started to work out the barca gameplan, and he's tinkered with it to make it even better. pep i am sure would've done the exact same thing if he was managing this season. an incredible eye for detail and someone who studies football, everything about about it, every little thing about the opponent, and make tiny changes to each game to capitalise on the 'errors' of other teams. this imo, is what sets guys like pep apart from so many. sure he's got the players like messi, iniesta, xavi. but imagine being the guy who said he didn't want ronaldinho at your club, the most entertaining player in the world. that takes massive balls. plus similar calls (deco, eventually eto'o) on people he didn't think fit into his vision.

if, as said, given the time and resoources, he could emulate the barca system at any club on the planet. he's that damn good.

The question over Pep though is whether he can implement the system over at another club, where potentially the youth set-ups and the support for a manager are less than than what he had at Barca. That's really the big difference between Jose and Pep, Mounrinho's shown he's been able to do it fairly successfully in 4 different countries and under trying circumstances, personally I haven't seen that from Pep yet.

Probably because Pep has only coached one club.......

Probably won't happen in January, but Fellaini just keep rising in value. Wonder where he will go and for what price?

Would love Guardiola to come in and replace that fat **** Rafa. And either Roman throws $$$ at Falcao, or we get Lukaku back from loan. I rate Lukaku very highly so I wouldn't mind either.
