tbh i am suprised it's no more. clubs like chelsea and city have more money than sense

While United players play for Aldi vouchers and half time oranges.

Beleive it or not some players play for more than money

You make out like United isn't the highest payer of wages since the premier league began.

So when Rooney threatened to leave a few years back did you not give him a whopping pay rise to convince him to stay?
I honestly think he didn't stay for the money. No doubt City were offering more I am guessing other clubs would have as well. Like most I was unsure about what was going on there. Some say he did it for more money, some say it was all cooked up for by his agent and some say he was never going to leave amongst many other stories I heard.

So the pay rise was just a happy coincidence. LOL.

I did say most
Not that we were heavily interested in any of those players. We were into Rodwell but that was a few seasons back before Everton wanted to sell. Looking like we dodged a bullet now

most of this overspending stuff comes from previous contracts. guys like bridge, santa cruz being on massive contracts was, with hindsight a mistake, but money was the only way to get players here. now it's 2012 and it's so different. we're not giving players the massive contracts they want to come here (hazard, van persie). players are coming to the club to compete for trophies, to be part of a massive project that is growing year by year, a club with a proud history that is aiming to become the biggest club in the world. that's why players are joining.

Not completely familiar with his circumstances but if I recall correctly he wasn't getting a game at Milan

not sure what exactly that has to do with him taking a paycut. he could have demanded the same amount
