Lescott available for £8m according to the Sun. Be on high wages and isn't getting any younger but would improve most sides in the league IMO.

With Kolo in Africa and VK having injury problems I can't see us making the deal without getting someone in first.

Guillem Balague is very confident that the Neymar to Barcelona move will happen in the summer. Who will this push out? Villa? Sanchez? Both are far too good to be sitting on the bench which is what you'd think will happen when Neymar arrives. Question is will they stay for the rest of the season or look for a move in January considering both have seen their opportunities limited even with the squad as it is?

Drop Rodwell back there as an experiment for a few weeks?

Maybe, but I doubt we would rely on that. Garcia is more likely, but when it comes down to it we don't have enough in the squad to be able to let players go without replacing them anyway.

Daily Fail suggesting you could go after Shawcross.

We'll sign him the day before the FA announce a crackdown on holding in the penalty area. He'll give away 5 pens in his first two matches and become the premier leagues Mick Gayfer.

garcia much more likely. rodwell can barely get fit.

2 names i wouldn't mind are carvalho and sakho. both frozen out at their respective clubs, both bring 2 very different aspects. carvalho the experience, and sakho the young defender who's career has stalled a bit. would welcome both.

Will undoubtedly help you when playing Arsenal, every one of their players will pull out of 50/50's with Shawcross.

Yeah, but we might see more of this:

i really dont think he's worth the hassle (as i've noted numerous time)

a real look at me look at me problem, would be your highest paid player, injury problems aplenty and likely that his best years are behind him. i think his name value and what he's done in the past gloss over the real problem here. even without this paycut, he's struggling to be fit and get into the inter team anyway. an improvement on what liverpool have, sure, but for a year or 2 maybe. not worth it at all.

No-one will pay him what he thinks he's worth. Unless he's getting a big sign on fee I'd be amazed to see him at Spurs/Liverpool etc.

Agree with Kizza, don't want anything to do with Sneidjer unless it's a bargain transfer fee and we give him a 2 year contract only. Then high wages could be justified as he is still a class player despite his best years being behind him. To think Inter could have cashed in 2 years ago when there was talk of United offering 25 million-30 million for him.

If anyone's going to sign him now it has to be United surely with their CM options I would imagine. Is an absolute twat so will fit in well there too.

the fee would be about the 10 mil mark, and i assume about half of it would be going to sneijder, ala adebayor just to get him off the books. he looks to be seeking that one big payday, big 5 year deal and such which most players around the 30 mark are looking for.

Instead of paying £8-10m and £150k/week for Sneijder we should be looking at paying £15-20m and £60-80k/week for the likes of Mertens, Belhanda, Eriksen, Holtby or Isco. Players that have yet to reach their peak and can offer us several years of service, not 1-2 likely injury plagued, sub-par seasons from a player who (as good as he was) is now over the hill. This would be as silly as the Joe Cole signing of 2-3 years ago where we picked up a player who was on the way down from his peak and paid him what he would have been worth 3 years previously.

Leave Isco alone. He's taken.

For attacking midfield options they are fine, it is the DM area they are poor in
