I'm not saying he'll be our saviour, but to suggest he's a waste of money before a ball has even been kicked as some are saying is in my opinion equally biased in the opposite direction. All I've said was that he'll improve our squad and will provide goals which we sorely need. I just don't think selfishness is necessarily as horrible an attribute as a striker can have. Put it this way, at least he's not a complete hack who never shoots and always shirks responsibility.
I then pointed out that there's a disparity between peoples perception and reality when it comes to the market value of players in today's inflated market and that while £12m for a player like Sturridge would have been considered excessive 10 years ago, these days I think it's entirely reasonable.

I can't imagine Tevez and Dzeko would be too pleased with yet another striker joining their overcrowded team. All four of them are too good to not be regulars. You might get away with Tevez as a creative player next to Silva with Yaya and Barry behind but they already lack width and that would probably make it worse. Strange signing if true, unless Dzeko is leaving as well.

Probably the reason it hasn't been activated yet. Though his defiantly worth that much, best striker in the world under 27 imo only Robin and Ibra are better of those over 27. I dont include messi as a striker.

i'd prefer falcao, but it's not the worst situation in the world to end up with cavani is it? i like falcao's game more and i think that he would suit us more, but we'd have to sell tevez, dzeko and mario to get one of them. but i think most of those 3 will be phased out regardless. if we keep the system we've played for the last couple of games i see no need to sell dzeko anyways. just pump it into the box and let him do what he does, either score or set someone else. none of this play it to his feet 30 yards out nonsense.
