Thank god we didn't sign Dempsey & Sigurdsson, really dodged bullets there. Our offer for Dempsey reflected what we thought of him.

In terms of Sigurdsson, I like him a lot and not happy that he didn't come, think he'd be better for us than for them. Dempsey, was pissed we didn't sign him mainly coz we missed out on Sigurdsson and a host others, but not too fussed anymore, he wouldn't fit us at all

On this Fryers thing, personally think the FA might need to do something as it has the potential to blow apart the current compensation arrangements if clubs can tap up young kids, send them to Belgium for 4 months and then sign them on the cheap.

Yet you spent more on Joe Allen for a position you were pretty well served than we spent on both of them combined. If you had one of them there it would strengthen a position where you need it you might be further up the table

How did we not need Allen though? We have Lucas, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson as CM's. Sahin is only on loan and Shelvey is still 20 years old. If you have aspirations to be a top side, you have to have 4 very good CM's. Plus apart from Lucas, they can all play in different positions too.

Rotation and resting. I thought we showed against QPR that there is room in our squad for another AM.

Plus you don't turn down the chance to sign players as talented as Isco IMO.

You never know with Roman, he has money falling out of his pockets. Would be building a very good team though.
